This is a very relaxed site with a hippy vibe. Nice new toilets and showers compliment the old block.
lots of people sat around fire pits during the night, it certainly wasn't rowdy, just people enjoying each others company having a chat arouund the fire. probably not the site if you like quiet by 10pm.
the pub serves nice beer and cider and the food was a good quality. Nice to have real chips rather than boring frozen chips.

our small group had a lovely stay and wouldnt hesitate to return.

A very relaxed, alternative site. Plenty of space and facilities were okay. Limited number of EHUs.

Very busy site. Very informal. Good beer at pub and easy canal walks to others. Quite noisy but that suited our group.

Stayed at The Barge Inn Honey Street in Pewsey Wiltshire. It had such a relaxing vibe. They have EHU in one field. You need to book. Live music in evening. There are facilities but we used our own. There is a chemical disposal point and water. Outside bar and van doing food. Lovely walks along the canal and up Pewsey Hill. We absolutely loved it but don’t go if you are wanting a very quiet, pristine site as this is not that sort of place which is what makes it so chilled. There is no noise after 11:00 am and they allow open campfires off of the ground. We want to go back ASAP!!!

Just returned from this site (during the Covid pandemic). There must have been in excess of 400 people here and, by 6pm on Friday, there was no soap or hand sanitizer left and it seemed to be a free for all. Whilst it seemed to be a lovely site under normal circumstances it wasn’t for us. Lots of very loud music from individual units and very dirty. Not much social distancing either.
Absolutely fantastic fish and chips from the mobile van though!

Great location, friendly and lively campsite where everyone is made very welcome - whatever the type or size of camper/tent/van. Outdoor bar and food truck in place at the pub during this strange Covid summer

Grass pitch with water and toilet emptying facilities. The pub was closed but outdoor bar was available. Looks a bit scruffy but very friendly staff and good dog walks , canal on doorstep. Out in countryside with lovely views, lane to site is a little tight but managable.

The Barge Inn and campsite have now reopened under new owners. The campsite field has had new land drains installed. Sadly the reseeding of the field was affected by bad weather so is quite rough in places but should impove in time. There is now a second camping field next door which is better. New loos and showers have been installed plus a washing up area, washer/dryer, new play equipment and table tennis table. The campfire area is still there. They now take vans and tents of all sizes and are installing bell tents to rent. The pub has been reedecorated and has a good pub grub menu. It still has a very laid back feel and will not suit everyone but we are very happy it’s open again.

Biggest problem is that the site description is a bit misleading. There does not seem to be a limitation on vehicle types as all types where there on this occasion. Secondly there are no Electrical Hookups. No grey or chemical waste points that we could find. The Shower block is much improved on our first visit in 2013. All the pitches appeared to be grass with hard access to most. Dogs are welcomed but we were told must be kept on a lead, this was unfortunate because for most of the time there were several dogs running loose belonging it would seem to both the site owners and the barges on the canal. It is a quite site although I cannot testify to the level of noise on music nights! Food, a good but limited menu at reasonable cost available and a nice selection of Local Beers. Would I go again? yes but lets hope for improvement.

Have stayed here many times and always loved the quirky atmosphere. Facilities are fairly basic but the location, pub and atmosphere more than make up for it. The home brewed cider is a must-try, and the food is no frills but plentiful and delicious. Such a shame the rules changed this year and anything larger than a campervan can no longer be accommodated.

Arrived not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. Small, grassy field with no hardstandings or hard track, but stunning location right next door to the canal. The facilities are basic but adequate (porta cabin loos and showers), the main attractions being the location and the pub. The pub attracts varied music lovers for the live bands, and there are usually a few bikers around, but we found the site to be quiet in general. We are a bit confused by the small campers and tents only category because we are a 7.6 m motorhome and we parked next to a large caravan combo on one side and live-in lorry conversion on the other, might be best to chech first.
Certainly the main attraction here is the canal, and we enjoyed long bank side walks and a super 9mile paddle in a kayak to Pewsey. We will definitely be going back.
