Note updated charges and now no weekend rate. We paid £16 from Friday evening after 6 pm until Sunday afternoon. Good value, well located for city centre attractions, food and drink. Cafe and toilets in the car park are available daytime only.

Arrived 23/11/18 midday & left 26/11/18 (9.30). Took ticket from lower meter on arrival & paid £29 on exit. Brilliant weekend although very busy not realising the Xmas market was on. Beautiful city with lots of restaurants, pubs & riverside walks ideal for families & dog lovers. Very peaceful & secure at night too, will definitely return.

A great place to stop to explore Chester. We had a quiet and uninterrupted night's sleep. Just wish more towns had facilities like this.

A great and convenient spot for enjoying Chester. Nice little cafe on site, open top buses also from the little roodee for hop on hop of tour. We walked along the river turning left and found great pubs, food and morris dancers!! It cist us £13 we arrived 2pm Wednesday and left 9.30 am Thursday.

Would have loved to stay here going on past reviews. However as we found to our disappointment, avoid during 1st - 13th May this year and probably sometime during the first 2 weeks of May any other year as the car park is taken over by a massive fairground! Seemed like a very good location though. Ah well maybe try again later in the year

Fabulous city. Really quiet place to park. We paid £10.80 for 24 hours with ticket from lower dispenser. Car park is sloping but there are some flat spaces parallel with river.
Excellent 2 mile walk around city walls. Plenty of dog friendly pubs. We will be back!

Ideal car park for centre of Chester, large car park mainly on a slope but about a dozen level individual places along the bottom near river, nice clean well run cafe and toiltets, main downside is toilets close when cafe shuts.

Brilliant location and great value for money. Took our VW T4 to this quiet site. Next door is the racecourse and can thoroughly recommend the walk around it. Tarmac car park so good for all year round. Got our ticket, stayed overnight, paid £1.50 & left, doesn't get any better.

We stayed here over night, well lit car park and toilets open during the day. Lovely view of the river and only 10 minute walk to the shops, restaurants and bars. We walked to Hickorys just a few minutes walk very nice food and lovely environment. We will definitely return.

Nice place to park nr the river. Short walk into town for all amenities. Toilet open all night. We paid for an oversized vehicle which I think was £10.80 but could have got it cheaper.....still ok though!

An excellent overnight location supported by the local council. Just 10 minutes to walk along the river to the city centre and ideal for the racecourse (if you get there early enough). Barriers locked in the evening so no cruising around the car park at night.

Used this carpark to visit the christmas markets. No facilities of any type, we took the oversized vehicle ticket and on leaving the next morning it cost £10.80, if we would have arrived after 5pm it would be £5.
Perfect for visiting the city as its only 5 mins walk away.

Great place to stop to visit Chester etc. New barriers and machines. No 'idiots' around as you need to take a ticket to raise the barrier. Felt secure and safe. Parking near the bottom is more level or just level with ramps. Café closed but toilets still open. Overall a decent place to stay. Didn't find many 'dog friendly' pubs around, but there are a few.

A good place to park up to visit Chester and/or the Chester races which are just across the road. Be aware that if you take a ticket from the tall dispenser you will be charged as a coach, so make sure you take from the lower (car) dispenser. I will be writing to the council to see if I can get my money back.
Lovely walks along the river each way.

This is the best parking spot that we have ever been to in England. It is secure and the entry/exit barriers stop the boy racers that you usually find in car parks.
It is a short walk into Chester which has lots of fine eating and drinking places, as well as loads of historic sites to see.
It is our "go to " place which we use everytime we plan a journey.

Good stopover in large well lit car park next to river, easy to find. Easy walking distance to center. The barriers are locked at about 1030 and opened 0630 so no traffic through night .Have stayed here twice ,ticket from machines which are also being updated but not working at end of October 2015 although old machines still operate. Ticket after 5 is £1.50 and is valid till 0900 .No facilities just a car park.If you have a big van you will always find room here I think .

Great location to visit Chester, some nice walks along the river, lovely restaurants and shops, lots to see and do. Always found a spot to park, in summer time there could be attractions in the car park ie Fair Ground as we visited last year and found it was closed. Might be worth enquiring first particularly bank holidays etc, be aware if you overhang the parking bay and you do not purchase two tickets, you will be booked. There are toilet facilities in the old cafe that are opened by a member of the council approx 9-5pm. If you arrive before 5 o'clock you will need to purchase a ticket for the minimum charge which I think is £4.00 and then £1.50 for overnight stays.
