Great little stop off point when travelling to or from France. Excellent value... £3 per 24 hour period and only £1 if arriving after 4pm. So we paid a total of £4 for our overnight stop. The service point offers drinking water, grey waste and black waste disposal. Access to very clean and tidy toilets from 7am to 7pm. And great bus service in to Canterbury.

Warm clean toilets 7 am to 7 pm
Nice & quiet.
Great bus service.
Great value.
Only 6 other vans around when we were.

Ate at the pub.
A little pricey but a nice treat.
They let me plug my laptop in to recharge which I was very happy about.

Great little stop for anyone to or from the continent. Canterbury Council, very well done, excellent.
Simple, yet fair, clean & quiet. Will definitely be using again. Recommend. Short trip into town on the included bus ticket, & nice pub down the road.

Perfect for an overnight stop before the tunnel or a base to visit Canterbury. Free bus to and from town included in the low price of £3.
The barrier closes pretty early stoppi g entry so we have stayed outside a couple of time on the block paved area when we missed the barrier.

Always use when coming of early shuttle or ferry. Pull in for breakfast and shower( in motorhome) Dump waste etc and to let rush hour traffic subside prior to driving back to Scotland. Improvement work to water facility was being carried out at time of stay.

Absolutely loved this stop ideal for the ferry at Dover, I would like to reiterate the previous comments in regards to Canterbury Council and their foresight in seeing the potential of a stop such as this which keeps large vehicles out of the city but allows the revenue to still come in. We stayed a couple of nights and made use of the bus ticket into the centre and also bought a day saver and visited the lovely Whitstable.£3 per 24 hrs and free bus ticket, water, waste, toilets excellent well done Canterbury for leading the way! Will have to extend soon :-)

The first night of our holiday was spent at the Canterbury Park & Ride and what a bargain! Good parking, a handy pub for a good dinner and the bus to take us into the heart of this wonderful city. Ok, it's a car park, but with all the facilities and we will use this site again and again. Congratulation to the City of Canterbury for being so enterprising, well done.

Excellent Aire on outskirts of Canterbury. Base don the park and ride on New Road so very regular buses. It costs £3 per day (until midnight) for a vehicle and up to six passengers, and this includes free use of the Park & Ride buses. If you arrive to park after 4pm, you will only need to pay £1 for the rest of that day. If you stay an extra day, the system will add a further £3 to your ticket.

Basic water available plus disposals, but same tap for fresh water as toilet so you may wish to clean tap before use! There is also an excellent pub right outside the park and ride with free wifi.

Why can other UK councils not provide a wonderful service such as this. Everybody wins! The motor homer gets a secure overnight stay with water and waste at a very reasonable price. The beautiful city of Canterbury gains more visitors who spend in shops/restaurants/pubs etc. Superb.

The local council has done a fantastic job in providing this awesome facility for only £3. The buses to city centre are very frequent and take you into the centre of Canterbury in approx 8 minutes. The aire is located on a main arterial road to Dover so very handy the ferry teminal. There is a plesent pub with in a couple of minutes walk.

The nearest thing we have to a French style aire. Purpose made for just motorhomes adjacent to the park and ride on New Dover Road. Note this is the only park and ride in Canterbury with motorhome overnight stays. At £3 per 24 hours it represents excellent value for money, especially as this includes use of the park and ride bus into the city centre. Max 48 hours stays. Would pay to arrive early in the day in August. We arrived at 7.00pm mid August to find it full. Mainly foreign registered vehicles so the word is spreading about this facility. We understand the nearby pub will allow you to stay if you have a meal but I can't vouch for this. We did stay overnight a mile back towards Dover in a huge layby on the New Dover Road. The following morning we found three spaces free at 8.30am. Ideally situated for those using the Port of Dover which is 15-20 minutes away. As we were so near to the port we arrived early and were put on an earlier boat but obviously, this is just the luck of the draw. It begs the question that if Canterbury can make a facility like this, why can't other public authorities. I wish this could be the model for many more motorhome 'aires' in the UK.

Ideal stopover for visiting Canterbury. £3 per 24 hours, maximum stay 48 hours. We only live 14 mile away but use it if we are having an evening in the city. As stated includes frequent buses into the city, when they stop running in early evening you can use the service buses that pass, 15 & 16. Nice pub at the entrance.
