Very quiet campground near the castle on the southern edge of Salzburg, at the foot of the Gaisberg Mountain. Family-run business with personal support. It’s only a few kilometres to the centre of the famous Mozart City of Salzburg

I think this site is fine when the weather is dry and sunny. It's essentially a big field that has no designated pitches - it's pretty much a free for all with parking taking all sorts of positions. So if you come here, come early to get a good choice of pitch. Although in a residential area, the forest and mountains behind provide great walks and there is a good view of Salzburg's Schloss from some pitches. There is a restaurant that doubles up as the office. The booking system is very rudimentary, with your details written on a white paper bag, in which they store your identity card! The toilet block is also a bit basic. The quality between ladies and gents varied greatly from adequate to dirty and unusable. The service area is basic and each morning it is chaos as people queue to fill up. Salzburg is about 4 miles away and you can easily cycle on the dedicated cycle paths. En route is a Lidl. Although please be warned if you come here during any sort of rainy period - this place is carnage. They are all grass pitches and the number of carved up areas that had to be sectioned off where vehicles struggled to get on and off was unbelievable. They do though, at least have a tractor that will help to pull you off. With a little bit of investment, this could be a great spot, if they just put in level, gravel pitches. It's a reasonably priced ACSI site in August compared to others at €25.50 based on two adults.

A great little gem of a site, a short bus ride from the center if Salzburg and some fun hill walking.

Great campsite for visiting the town of Salzburg, the other options at the north of town were full so we headed here and glad we did. Slightly difficult access through residential area but managed ok and there was bigger vans than us camped aswell.
Host speaks good english and explains everything you need to know very efficiently. On site bar and small cafe/restuarant. Plenty of hookup points but may need long leads depending on where you can park. No fixed pitches, just park where you like.
10 minute walk to the No. 7 tram that takes you into Salzburg town where there are lots of sights and attractions (3.30€ for a 24hr ticket). Would recommend getting the Salzburg card which gives free/discounted access to most of the attractions
