There are plenty of signs up to say that this small aire has now closed, but in August 2016, this was being used as the overflow parking for the new large aire across the canal (see Camperpark Kinderdijk on Marineweg). Those who thought they could have a cheeky free night were visited by the ticket inspector (and local police).

Stopped here as it appeared to be the closest place for visiting the many windmills at Kinderdjike. The site is alongside the small harbour in the centre of Alberasserdam and also forms part of the car park for the ‘Landvarst' theatre where there was a wedding reception being held so we were expecting it to be quite noisy, but it turned out to be quiet enough. Suitable for vans upto 7.5m only otherwise you will overhang too much. It is an easy cycle to the windmills which are really worth a visit, you can cut through the town (via The road "Blokerweg" towards the Aldi) this saves having to cycle along the main road and provides a much more scenic route along the canals. The town of Alberasserdam itself hasn't got that much to offer but there and ALDI (the motorhome friends store) and an Albert Heijn store, one of the better supermarkets we found in Holland. There was free wifi provided for by the harbour, but the signal was pretty poor, we had better luck with the iBoost and a KPN Fon signal

We found this expensive but as it is next to the water bus stop, a very handy place to overnight.
