This site is a real find. Shower and toilet facilities are simple but clean. Its location is only 1 km from the canal side and just off the main rd. A great base for a cycling outing to Kaag island. Excellent.View all reviews by WeThreeKings
The site uses a septic tank system and specfically request visitors use a non biological toilet additive.
After not being able to get into another campsite, we managed to get the last spot on this living farm Aire. With highly scented fields of tulips beside you, this is a great stopover. EHU available on every spot and great cycle routes around to see other bulb fields. Whilst there is some background train, plane and automobile noise, nothing disturbing. Good value, friendly and top quality Aire. Caution, they only take cash and the queues for the services are chaos first thing!View all reviews by themotoroamers
Brilliant site and very friendly manager! Cost now in 2019 is €14 pn and €2 for electric hook up. Showers and toilets are cleaned twice daily, a bread van calls every morning and a large mobile shop every evening. It is an ideal site for visiting Keukenhof which is a bike ride away through the town of Lisse. The station, should you wish to visit Amsterdam is about 4 km away. Would highly recommend it.View all reviews by rexviv
Arriving at this private camperplaats we were met with a friendly welcome from the host and although we hadn’t booked they managed to find us a space which was lucky as 5th May in Holland is Liberation Day (a national holiday in Holland) and that coupled with great weather meant there was a lot of motohomers out and about. As we didn’t need electric we were given a pitch on the grass field which overlooked the tulip fields and they were in full bloom. There are two other section to park, a concrete forecourt by the farm building - which has electric and no views and a third section which is surrounded by hedging and is probably the normal camper park. At around 5pm the site was full with over 50 vans on site and the hosts were turning people away.View all reviews by admin
Maps and an information pack are given to you when you check in and there appears to be plenty to do in the area although you will need a mode of transport as nothing within reasonable walking distance.
The location is great for visiting the Keukenhof Gardens and is about an 8km pancake flat cycle ride away, but if you are cycling into the strong wind it is harder work than you may expect.
Facilities on site include a small shower block and laundry, free wifi (albeit it very intermittent) and the usual waste disposal facilities. One thing to note though is as the site is eco friendly, the toilet dump does not accept chemicals and eco fluids should be used which could be a problem if you arrive on site with a half empty cassette already containing blue chemicals. Eco friendly toilet fluid is available at reception.
Despite being a good few hundred metres away, with the prevailing wind, there is some noise from the road, train and planes but not too bad and is much quite at night.
We paid 12€ a night with no electric which is high season price (April May is classed as high season)
All in all I would recommend this stopover.
