Fantastic site. All you could hear were the birds. No toilets or showers which made I very quiet and peaceful - perfect for us

One of my favorite campsites, It has a feeling of serenity in the middle of Borrowdale one of the most popular tourist destinations in England, the site is in trees and the advantage is that there are some secluded pitches, the downside is no sun. The evening walk across to Lodore Hotel, you cannot stay here without a wander up Catbells from the campsite. Access is ok in 7.4m. However be careful if leaving late morning as inconsiderate parking on the access roads can make things tight

Concur with all the previous comments. Great site for the self contained unit. Interesting to witness the ongoing work to repair the damage from the 2015 floods. Good boat trip across Derwent water to Pooley Bridge and great lunch there in recently opened facilities (2015 floods).

Quick update to my last review. There is now an excellent new motorhome service point on level ground. Spacious enough for any size van and a huge improvement over the previous small area on a slope!

We love this site. Although it doesn't have a Shower and toilet block, the setting in a pine forest at the bottom of Derwent water is excellent. You can walk very easily straight from the site, there is a lovely circular walk round Derwent water about 10 miles. There is a bus stop right side of the site gate.

Caravan Club site. Basic facilities and no toilet. Location is lovely set in woodland on the lakeside with excellent walks around the lake for even the less mobile. The drive to the site was a bit hairy in a medium sized motorhome but with a visit if you are in the Keswick area.

A basic Caravan Club site with no toilets, showers etc. Access can be tricky through Grange Village, so you need to ensure you arrive after 12 noon. Ideal position for access to the lake, walks and a very useful bus service, either just outside the site gate or across the lakeside path. A few hotels/tea rooms very close and Keswick just 5 miles or so away. Motorhome service point available.

Great Caravan Club site in the woods alongside Derwent Water, (access path direct from site) also sits at the botttom of Cat Bells, an easy climb in the lake district.
Red Squirrels on site
Access could be tight for larger units, both at the site entrance and across the bridge at Grange on the approach to the site.
Less formal than other Caravan Club sites
