More expensive and busier than the sites we normally stay at but was surprisingly quiet and relaxing. £48 for 2 nights.
Covid restrictions only allowing a limited number of people in toilets/showers worked well. Whole site and services very clean and tidy.
Short walk into Castleton which was a lovely village with nice pubs with reasonably priced food.
Had a great days walking up Cave Dale to Mam Tour and along the ridge to Lowe Hill and back down to the site.

Like all C&MC sites very neat & tidy. Plenty of space. 2 dog walks.

Due to C19 stuff a number of restrictions are in place

It was a last minute break so can't complain to much. If site was less busy I'd recommend getting a pitch as far away from the road as possible.

We only had a choice of 3 pitches but the road noise started about 7am on the Saturday & at times you can't hear each other

Very busy site full most weekends. Wardens kept v busy cutting hedges & grass mowing as units leave. Toilet blocks v covid 19 prepared with hand sanitizer strategically placed around the site. All hardstandings a seperate area with super pitches with own water & drainage points. The motorhome service point is located as you enter just after the barrier to a one way system ok for arrival but on departure if you follow the rules you have to go out the exit barrier then immediately return opening the entry barrier to access the facilities, you may then find other units backing down the one way system to reach the drainage point of the facilities a potential point of unnecessary conflict.

Usual high standards CAMC site. Easy walking access to both Castleton and Hope villages. Can also got over to Edale by foot quite easily. Very busy in Castleton with all the mines visitor attractions. Dog walking extensive but mostly on lead due to numerous cattle and sheep fields. Lovely curry delivered from the Curry Cabin restaurant in Hope - no delivery charge.

Great location just outside the village. Warm, clean toilet/shower block. Well maintained, level pitches. We were on a serviced pitch - only (minor) gripe is the lack of TV aerial sockets (which are becoming standard on more and more C&M Club sites) as the hills and trees mean TV reception is poor.

As always a fantastic site provided by the CAMC.

Although I have looked for 2020 and the prices seem to have gone up by £4-5/night, as a self contained motorhome I think that is now becoming a tad expensive.

Also, there is not much view direct from the pitch

Stayed here for 4 nights. Nice small and quiet site with very good facilities. Good for walking, Lose Hill, Mam Tor, Limestone Way etc. If you are not into walking there is not a lot to do for any more than a couple of days. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Stayed here for one night. The site is very friendly, has lovely clean shower block and facilities and even has a herb garden where you can snip some herbs. It’s a little pricey at £31.30 per night, but the location and services make it good value. Site Is a short walk to the village which has good pubs and restaurants.

Busy site, we wanted to stay another night midweek, but there was no room. It's easy to understand why, the facilities are second to none. Even a herb garden so you can stretch your culinary muscles. You can walk both to the village of Hope and into Castleton. You can also join many walking trails from here. Including the fabulous Mam Tor.

Great site. Although we didn’t experience any road noise some pitches are quite close to the road. Some of the pitches are sloping, we needed chocks.
The dog walk is small but on the way into Castleton there’s a footpath on the left where you can walk them. We couldn’t find any off lead areas especially as it was lambing time.
Ten minutes walk into Castleton with shops and pubs (all seem to be dog friendly).
The site itself is well kept with friendly wardens. New shower block is lovely.

An excellent Clean Site just a short walk from Castleton itself. The toilet block is spotless and they have a family room with table tennis and pool in it and some other games. All staff encountered were very friendly as well. Do a midweek discount at present so was quite cheap at Feb half term.

Really comfortable site. Great location just ten minutes from Castleton. Good sized pitches on hard standing. Good tv signal. Warm shower block and a useful laundry and drying room.
The bus stop outside is a lovely 50 minute ride to Bakewell. We walked from there on the Monsal Trail to Monsal Head and then caught a bus back. Great way to spend a day.

Stayed for a night on a cold January. Site facilities spotless, wardens friendly and very helpful, nearby village of Castleton (10min walk) has numerous quality pubs, just the job after an energetic walk up Mam Tor.
Only problem with site is its popularity which makes it get booked up quickly at the weekends though midweek usually ok. already booked to return

Very modern clean and tidy site within easy walking distance to Castleton. Very friendly and helpful staff. Facilities are imaculate; best we've seen so far. Beautiful area with lots to do. Plenty of real ale pubs, excellent eateries and great walking in the surrounding area.

I stayed two nights here and its very pleasant, I had to move pitches because it was a busy week but that was OK.The site is located close to Castleton village which boasts pubs and a couple of local shops that sell almost everything you need. The site owners were very helpful, I needed to change a leisure battery but had no tools so they lent me a spanner to do the job. There are great walks around the area,Paragliding from Mam Tor and four Caverns to see.All in all a great site to stay at.

This is one of our favourite sites in the UK, its great for exploring, walks with the dogs and Mam Tor. Great pubs in Castleton and their is a regular bus stop that will stop outside the campsite if you ask.
Sadly this site is closing Jan 2016 for refits for 8 months. It will be missed.

We were going to stay here, we had arrived, paid and were driving to the pitch when a member of staff who had clearly had an argument with a commercial rescue truck driver, stopped us and had a real go at us for something we did not do. It upset us do much that we decided not to stay, which was a real shame, as it is in a lovely location. It left a bad taste in my mouth, I will not be going back.

Great site with access to town and lovely walks. We were 10 minutes stroll from the pubs and a general store. Although the site was going to close for refurbishment it's hard to improve on such a lovely peaceful place. The club midweek offer makes this place an ideal midweek stay.

A Fantastic Caravan Club site, located almost in the heart of Castleton village, it's a superb location.
Many local walks both short (to Hope village), Mam Tor, Edale, or right over to Kinder Scout.
Great facilities, and nicely tucked away from view (secluded) everything you could want from a camp site.

One of our favorite CC sites, indeed our most visited site of any! Great location for motorhomes as you really do not need a car here. Short walk into lovelly little town with many good pubs. Great walks around the surrounding hills and many caves open to visitors. Toilet block now starting to look a little tired but the CC has a rolling refurb program so sure it will receive a makeover soon.

Travelling home from the Lake District we looked for a convenient stopover to break the journey. As luck would have it, we found ourselves at the Losehill Caravan Club Site situated between the villages of Hope and Castleton. The site is very well maintained with many beautiful flower beds surrounding the Reception area. A Post Office can be found in Hope along with a small convenience store and several good looking pubs. Castletown, also within easy walking distance, felt slightly bigger and had many unusual shops and pubs to please the eye. Visitors will be drawn, if they have even the slightest sweet tooth, to The Real Fudge Shop, scrumptious! Walkers will discover many interesting routes including the strenuous Winnats Pass, whilst those who enjoy dark places will have many caverns to choose from. Sadly, the site does not have the benefit of scenic views, however, it is attractively laid out, offers excellent facilities and our thanks must go to the friendly Wardens for their outstanding efforts maintaining this lovely site. We look forward to returning sometime soon.

An ideal site for visiting the Peak District. Excellent facilities and within easy walking distance of Castleton with its pubs, shops and cafes. This is an excellent site for us as its only just over an hour away , convenient mid week break providing all the facilities to be expected of a Club site. Really handy for the small town with its plethora of eating opportunities. The George at the side of the church is excellent . Hope village in the opposite direction is also easily accessible on foot although there is a bus service fir the less energetic. The Christmas lights switch on ceremony is always a popular weekend in Castleton. The caves in the locality are Aldo worth a visit.
