Stopped two nights whilst hillwalking. It is indeed a quiet site, halfway up the hill so it has good views, particulary of the sunrise over the far eastern fells. Light and airy reception area with friendly staff, a good stocked food store and what looked like a cosy bar although I didn’t visit it. Showers and toilets I would describe as functional rather than plush but there is also a bath in one of them. There is also a communal day room with tea/coffee machine and tables and chairs. A small, clean and quiet site perfect location for the Mell fells and Gowbarrow fell.View all reviews by jimandmish
Brilliant site. Fantastic shop and bar. They even have a heated dog and boot wash. Great views, location and walks. The only thing is that the shower room/toilets cleaning could have been better.View all reviews by JARS
Lovely site with views over Ullswater, all be it fairly distant.View all reviews by horleyflyer
Good pitch with hook up and tap. Friendly staff.
Clean toilets and showers and plenty of them.
Loved the bar..... possibly the best onsite bar in England? I'm talking bar not clubhouse. Roaring fire..quaint decor and reasonable prices .
Motorhome service point. Free WiFi. Small shop. Launderette...as I remember £3 a wash.
Children's playground looked good for over 3's.
A mile and a bit walk to the nearest bus stop which will take you to Penrith or to Pooley Bridge for an Ullswater steamer ride!
Excellent site. lovely clean and warm toilets\showers. Booked on the Caravan field as was cheaper than the Campervan one. Added bonus of doing that we were nearer the toilet block.View all reviews by nickaddie
£44.00 a night when we called to book a pitch !! Said no thanksView all reviews by susiesukes
Gorgeous site, lovely view over Ullswater, lovely barn converted into a pub with a roaring log fire, even have their own ale which is lovely. A little on the pricy side at £26 for a fully serviced pitch, but it is the Lakes and the toilet block has a heated floor!View all reviews by lordy70
Fabulous site with beautiful views and walks and excellent clean facilities. Staff all helpful and friendly. Lovely play area for children and indoor soft play. Nice pub and even a van serving breakfasts and dinners. Pitches with ehu and own water point and good motorhome service area with drive over drain for grey waste. Nice mix of tents, caravans, campers and pods and not too crowded.View all reviews by lricha9909

Stunning views over Ullswater.
Bank Holidays & Weekends tend to be two night minimum stay but a site well worth a visit.
