Busy site. Small grass pitches, most require levelling blocks, some are very tight to manouevre into. 2-pin EHU. Spacious toilets(no toilet roll)/showers. On site bar (restaurant closed when we visited off-season). Open air (unheated) pool. Easy access to beach.View all reviews by strinesian
Great location for the beach but little else if in motor home.View all reviews by explorerdora
Pitches quite tight and sloping. Best are on the row nearest the beach. Facilities appear clean but no toilet rolls, didn’t fancy the showers.
Bar closed and supermarket running stock down.
EHU 2 pin.
No shops/ cafe/restaurant within 15 minutes walk.
Just arrived at site. Supposed to be open all year, well it's NOT OPEN today!View all reviews by hippysummer
This is the second site in two days that is supposed to be open all year, but NOT open when we arrived.
I am only rating this so site can take my review, as not able to get on site.
Quiet out of season site. Beautiful beach a very short walk away. Good hot showers, helpful staff. Bus to town nearby.View all reviews by kaye
Pitches are a bit tight for room, if your MH is longer than 8m it's probably not a good idea.
€18 March with EHU.
This campsite is directly behind one of the most famous water sports beaches in Portugal, it has direct beach access which is locked nightly. The campsite is full of people who drive from as far away as Norway to spend their whole summer on the beach doing water sports, it's more akin to a sports village, there's kit usually everywhere... Very colour full, a lot of residents take the full dimensions of their plots with big awnings / kit as they spend several weeks there... This can lead to problems if you have a larger vehicle with limited turning circle access can be v tight. As you can hardly reverse into your pitch!View all reviews by jemabarr
It feels very cramped, there's no spare space between the MH's, especially with the big awnings / kit...so your neighbour will possibly be sat directly under your open window! I hate to think what would happen if there was a fire on a pitch.
The people on site are obviously sporty fun loving, so it can be noisy, the 11pm curfew we were promised didn't exist, there was noise until 2.30 :(. Apparently this is normal.
Apart from personal thoughts, it was clean tidy and well maintained, access to viano du Castillo town is via a daytime shuttle mini passenger ( & bike if they have space) ferry which is 10 mins walk away and runs hourly
There's no view from the site as hidden behind a huge sand dune
