This site is the worst ever, dirty, really badly run, full of stray cats and dogs, homeless living in adjoining dereilict buildings.
The water and sewage are all from the one disposal point.
Food waste goes into open skips, that appear to have rat poison scattered round them, the blue stuff.
Electricity is overnight only, you pay upfront but then the woman goes home and does not hook you up.
Avoid if possible, the only plus side is the fast broadband !
I have pictures of the area but seem unable to submit them.

Has described previously. Ok stop over for a night on our way to Seville. Please note you will need to pay your people’s tax at the office as you enter the parking area before you can get your ticket!(a building on the right as you come into the parking area). Town is typical Portugal with shops and restaurants.

Everything in order as in previous reviews. A pleasant stopover for 2 nights. Relaxing by the harbourside and a Saturday secondhand / antique market in town.
Busy but not overcrowded. Neithet quiet nor really noisy but earplugs are useful.

This Aire is just over the border from Spain in the Eastern Algarve. it's next to the estuary and just a short walk into the pretty town. There's lots of long term pitches taken in winter, but we arrived late in the day and there was still plenty of space. Charge is €4.50 without EHU and €7 with. Lots of love still in the town even in winter. All services available and there's a launderette just up the road. It is near the railway and a road but we carry ear plugs so weren't affected. No problems getting in in a big motorhome either as there were some huge ones there. I would imagine the ground being a bit muddy in the wet.

A semi regulated Aire, €4.50 per day - we didn't have EHU - which seems to require advance booking. Barrier controlled with two attendants who now collect the tourist charge of €0.50 per person per day. We were lucky to arrive as a space on the front became available, lovely views of the river. Other reviews have info on shops and town. They are all still accurate. The lower facilities mark is because we haven't found them yet so can't comment.

Great stop over, the Aire is well placed to visit the lovely town, with its many shops selling Portuguese cotton towels, table cloths etc. The Aire can be muddy in wet weather. There is a breadvan, fruit sellers and a laundry service. The free WiFi is accessible close to the office.

An unexpected stop after finding the free Aire at Castro Marim closed for the monthly market, and rather a noisy one with trucks and traffic through the night. An ok spot for an overnight but would not stay longer.

Lovely views across the river. However the "new port is only 250 metres away so the fishing boats and trucks are passing by all night. Very noisy. I'd try somewhere else if you are a light sleeper.

May 2017. Great aire, all water and waste facilities. €4 per night. Right on riverbank looking out to Spain. Bread man calls in mornings. The village is quite decent with loads of shops selling cotton goods. We have a Facebook page to record our travels - if you search for Betty Bolero & "like" the page, then scroll down to find photos & write ups for this area if you fancy. The posts get older the further down the page you go, simply carry on until you find the date we were here.

A great spot and good value for money. €4.50 per night, hook up an extra €2.50. Easy walk into a lovely little town with lots of reasonably priced restaurants. Wifi free but rubbish.

Excellent stopover at the border between Portugal and Spain. Have stayed many times and always been able to get on. This time it was very busy with around 95% French vans, many of which seemed to be staying long term. The service area was much better maintained and cleaner than before and the free wifi worked very well. All in all a good stopover for a couple of nights.

If you are lucky you may get to park at the front of the car park where you will be able to see across the river to Spain, and you can even take a ferry there for €1.80 (correct as I post this review). The town is laid out in a grid pattern so you can;t get lost and the local shops in the centre are in a traffic free area.

Went to this aire based on the positive reviews but I'm afraid we didn't share the other reviewers enthusiasm. True it is close to a really nice town and has river views if you are lucky enough to get a waterside pitch (we weren't) but the surface it compacted sand and therefore very dusty, wifi was out of order and we could'nt find anyone to hook up the electricity.
As you approach the aire there are two options I.e go to the left for stays of less than one week, alternatively, area to the right, which is far nicer, is for stays of more than a week.
All in all we weren't tempted to stay more than one night. There were many half starved dogs around, some of which appeared to be residents. They appeared harmless enough but the neglect was upsetting.
Don't think we'll be back.

Stayed here many times because of the lovely town and the ferry across the river to Spain. The Aire is situated beside the ferry and a short walk into town where there are busy shops and restaurants. The surface leaves a bit to be desired but it's cheap and has all the facilities that you need in a motorhome. There are a few electric hook-ups but the free Wi-Fi is more often broken than working!
