Nice quiet stopover in a school car park.
Lovely walk by the river into the town.
BE CAREFUL...our satnav also sent us to go under a tiny 2.5m bridge
Go back to the roundabout and take the exit to town and approach from that side, as suggested by another reviewer. Thank you!
Old medieval town with Roman ruins - very pretty. We arrived on a Tues and it was market day in the walled town. A bakery and cafes in the town. Lovely walks, including to the dam wall and reservoir. Parking is outside a school so some cars and buses at certain times, but not a problem. Water services available. Useful to know about the low bridge at one end of the road. Quiet at night.View all reviews by SteveJulesMontycame2
Stopped here as our first stop from the Santander ferry, it’s anout a two hour drive in our old Hymer. Arrived abkut 4.15 on 30/12, no other vans here but three more arrived later. Room for about 10 vans. Good little historic town centre with bars selling tapas. Easy drive over grey waste and wc dump but temperature was minus 2 in the morning and water taps frozen.View all reviews by thechubb
Agree - sat nav tried to send us under a 2.4m bridge! Go back to r’about and over another bridge to gain access. Feels secure. Parking is surrounded by schools so busy during drop off and pick up times.View all reviews by roywilliamfinch
We stayed here for a night in Feb 2018 on our way south having arrived at Sandanter at about 5.30 that day. We were one of five overnighting, the others all being Spanish but a few other vans came to use the facilities. Quiet night and felt safe. We walked into the town in the evening and next morning, definitely worth a visit. We had a dog with us and the park area on the other side of the river was a good place to exercise her. Will definitely use again.View all reviews by lorri38
Our regular waterdrop on the way home. Clean, easy to use, well signposted from town centre, double taps. Not spent night. Careful as low bridge over one access road, GPS tried to send us that way first time. Follow signs from centre instead. Aguilar is a lovely town worth an explore, up to the castle ruins, the monastery, the main square, along the river, and up by the reservoir (swimming in summer).View all reviews by ratoncantabria
Tidy aire with water, black and grey waste disposal. Located on edge of town, surrounded by nursery school, block of flats and junior football pitches. Relatively flat tarmac area with space for around a dozen vans. The town is medieval and only 10 minutes stroll away; with ancient plaza surrounded by bars and restaurants. A river runs nearby with park on opposite side great for walking dog, or a swim if that way inclined. We arrived on a Sunday and spent quiet night with arond another 10 vans.View all reviews by dalmoresteve
