Charming, tranquil site between two streams (one with two foot bridges) and next to Tudor farmhouse and former mill next to which yougsters were swimming today. 50p showers in one-time horse stalls in small stable block. Unusual construction in middle of site a wartime bomb shelter. Possible to clamber in. The cdp point next to it. Love different and 14C history.

We stayed here for one night (22nd May 2017) and really enjoyed the site. It was almost empty with just one other pitch occupied. The site is positioned right next to the river (Farleigh?). I was stupid enough to try swimming on a hot day in May and the water was pretty damn cold. If you're more sensible you'll test the water in July to August when the river will have warmed up.

We paid £21 for the night with electric hookup. The showers are 50p for at least three minutes. There is a small cafe/shop that serves delicious, huge cream teas from 3-6pm. They also sell unpasteurised milk and boxes of barbecue meat.

Phone signal is poor (certainly for EE). There is wifi but it seemed over-priced at £3 for two hours. Nearby road is a bit loud in the morning but otherwise it's idyllic.
