We stayed here as our normal pub campsite in the area, the Barge, is now closed (though the pub is still open). This is a lovely site with good hard standings for vans and caravans at the top of a sloping field with terraces for tents. The facilities are in a portacabin but were perfectly adequate and clean. The site includes a small river and a lake, much used by fishermen. Off the ground firepits are allowed. The pub is friendly and serves very good beer and food. The pub is fairly isolated but there was a bus to Salisbury from just outside but as the weather was glorious we chose to stay onsite and chill. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely return.View all reviews by sandrae
Stayed towards the end of Feb 2017. Looks like the pitches have been revamped over the winter. Compacted hardcore / shingle separated by, currently, mud. I guess that grass will grow soon.View all reviews by petest
The grounds have now been partially fenced off so that the beer garden is now separated from the campsite and car park.
Facilities are ok, bit dated but work fine.
Food was good.
Had the dogs with us, limited space to walk on site. There is a bridleway close to the pub but you have to walk down the road to reach it (no pavements), which was a bit hair raising.
We stayed here a couple of times as a rally site - we have always been made most welcomeView all reviews by bowringclan
Loverly pub nice food and a campsite. A lot better than a pub stopover with electric etc. Stayed 3 times this year (2016) and enjoyed each trip.View all reviews by tisme
A one night stop over on route. Level hardstanding pitches with EHU. Ports cabin type structure, 1 ladies loo, 2 ladies showers & I guess the same in the gents, open 24 hours, lots of mould on the ceiling of the shower I used, tho lovely hot water!View all reviews by kajj
Really enjoyed my meal in the pub, most meals around the £11 mark. However at £20 per pitch per night with no concession for eating in the pub & as a solo camper I would struggle to justify the cost to stop here again.
Staid on the 30th of Dec 2016 on route to our main destination. Food great and priced very reasonable, all staff very friendly. Pitches are fine, level but the grit was a real pain as it just stuck to your shoes like glue (wont have any effect on my review) EHU available on all pitches. Showers were very hot but could do with some TLC if I am to be honest. They are cleaned but have seen better days, lick of paint and scrape the fungus off the ceilings wouldnt go a miss. Agree with KAJJ £20 was a little steep as many pub stops do offer a small discount if you spend at the bar, a fiver off per pitch would break the bank would it.View all reviews by mw0jze
Value for money: £15 would make me go back especially as we spend at the bar when we use pub stopovers
Location: Didn't play any bearing for me but Stonehenge and all that sort of thing are close by.
Facilities: Chem waste, drinking water showers hot and OK but get that tin of paint out and some fungus killer
View: Fishing pond opposite with fields in foreground.
Lovely site with ehu, fringed by the river Avon. The pub is very welcoming and does lovely food as well as a great range of beers, as you'd expect from a Wadworths pub. It's pretty rural and unless you have bikes or tow a car I'd recommend the Woodbridge for a relaxing weekend of sitting in the sun sampling the aforementioned beers!View all reviews by deladoodahdoo
