What a wonderful little gem of a site. We stopped over the weekend and had pitch 1 with great views over the countryside. The owners are a real mine of information and a pleasure just to pass the time of day with. Great location for visiting the Beamish museum or the pub opposite which we visited twice and had very enjoyable meals both times. Only drawback is no shower facilities but don't let that put you off if self contained.View all reviews by bertie193
Absolutely lovely little find. The owners are really really helpful. Such a great stopView all reviews by corconx
A love of railways made it even better
Friendly, helpful owners. Sadly Dixon didn't have his trains out whilst we were there. We opted for hardstanding (all concrete) but changed to grass when a plot was empty for a better view, even though it was nearer the neighbours peacock! Good location for Beamish, Durham etc. The 3 Horse Shoes pub isn't always open, did have a meal, food fine, service rather abrupt.View all reviews by sandraoxley
Nice site. Lovely owners. Good pub for food nearby.View all reviews by paddlerjay
Of great interest to "trainspotters" and the like - the site is enclosed by a large gauge steam railway. Engineering by the owner! Great location for Newcastle and for beautiful countryside.
