Basic site on two fields next to a farm. Great location overlooking Carsington Water. Only £8.50 but no hardstanding, EHU, grey waste disposal, toilets or showers.

In better weather I reckon this spot is fantastic. We were prewarned by the owner that only the track into the field was usable due to the crazy amount of rain over the past few months. I can't rate the facilities as we didn't use the water tap or elsan point. This site gives you a great view over Carsington water and the local pub, the Knockerdown is excellent too. A very short walk to the reservoir.

Only needed to stay for the night, easy to find, lovely area and nice view over Carsington Water. Arrived late in the evening on a bank holiday weekend so ended up on the sloped pitch but it wasnt too bad. Water and elsan waste easy to get to. Cheap and cheerful and would happily go back again.

A pleasant basic campsite set over 2 fields next to the farm. Elsan point and rinsing tap in the bottom (sloping) field & fresh water in the top flatter field. Great views over the lake which is about 5-10 mins walk down the cycle path. Very weak/no phone/wifi reception but free WIFI at the Pub 10 mins up the road which also serves food and is open all day. We spent 4 nights here mostly raining but didn't have any trouble getting out of the top field. Fish & Chip van comes Friday 4-6pm

A 5 minute walk from Carsington Water. The main two fileds were vry busy so the farmer let us stay in another grass field on the other side of the farm. There is also a rally field here.
No facilites other than water and an Elsen point in the middle of the two main fields but at £7 per night it was good value.

Two fields, the lower 1 is sloping & has lovely views of the reservoir, both can be muddy in wet weather. Also a large rally field with services over the road with views & it is flatter. If you turn up and they were full they will find a place.
Lots of walking and cycling, a visitor centre, bird hides & a kids play area on the reservoir, an off road path & cycleway goes down to the lake but it is a steep hill.
Services are basic but there are 2 taps one for washing out WC cassetts so for £7 what more could you want.

A lovely spot and very helpful people although after too much rain, the spot was too waterlogged to risk stopping. Ended up paying a lot more for hard standing. Will come back another year though.

£6 A NIGHT !!! views that are jaw dropping the guy on the site called Paul is more than help full. Loads of room, 5 min walk to the lake I've lost count how many times I've been whilst touring Derbyshire, stunning place 10/10 for me. Running water and toilet waste only but that's why it's £6 and I love it no frills camping

Great view from the little site, basic but with elsan point and water but £7 mustn't grumble. Close to Carsington water and a pub for a pint. No need to book just roll up and the money is collected later.

just returned from a great weekend with my wife and two boys, and the dog . nice clean site . friendly farmer . if you like basic site this is the one. no hook up, only a tap and elSan point.great value for £7 a night. , just pitch up and farmer collects the money later. 5 minutes walk to the pub with great food and playground. also dog friendly. 5 minutes walk to carsington water visitors centre shops,coffee,ice creams nice walk around the reservoir. large playground .

Paul tha farmer who owns the site has asked me to amend the nightly charge from £6.00 to £7.00 per night.Still great value for money.Just spent another couple of great nights there.Pretty busy but plenty of space for everyone.

Great site been visiting for years .All grass with cold water and Elsan disposal point £6.00 for the night.Has a web site and phone number but Paul the farmer has always accomadated us .Best views in Derbyshire from a campsite.You can catch the bus into Ashbourne from the Reservoir which is 5 minutes walk away and offers great walks and cafes and variety of shops.Knockerdown pub within easy walking distance.There are often Rallies at the site but useualy kept in a seperate field.

Definately recommend this site. Only £6 per night.....no facilities other than water, but that doesn't matter....The reservoir is within throwing distance....so is the pub. PAUL was great.....We got stuck in the mud and he had no issues dragging us out with the tractor.

Brilliant location for Carsington water, 5 minute walk down to the visitor centre. Basic with only water and toilet waste disposal but for £6 a night can't complain. Friendly farmer, turn up, park and he will collect fee later.

I like this site its dog friendly and beautiful views its £6 per unit per night no extra charges dogs etc. there are two different sites one on the right and one on the left 100 meters further down both have tap water and elson there is a pub The Nockerdown inn 5-10 minute easy walk away that does decent food you can also stop on their site but its twice as much as here.

Great site close to Carrsington visitors centre where there are loads of activities. There are views of the lake from the site. Pub and farm shop closeby. £6 for the night is good value. No facilites except tap and elsan dump.
