Recommended by a friend and well worth it. A teeny bit expensive at £27 per night, but then we aren't C&CC members. Facilities look a little dated, but who cares, they were very clean and everything worked as it should. Nice walk down the riverside path to the village, where there are plenty of dog friendly cafe's, pubs and shops. Traffic is a bit tight in the village so be careful. The wardens are very friendly and helpful, the site is well laid out and the hardstanding pitches are nice and level.

In an excellent location for walking the Kinder area and an easy stroll along the river into Hayfield. The access is tight on places but doable. The facilities are dated and during our stay not cleaned particularly well. Reasonable size pitches. TV reception poor, as is mobile reception. Basic free wifi available.

Good location for the Peak District cycling and walking. Fantastic food at The Sportsman down the road. Access into Hayfield which is a tiny English Village with way too much traffic. It is very tight getting in and out especially at the weekend. They have made the other side of Hayfield no entry so all the traffic goes through the village. Ok if you have a panel van but a bigger motorhome tricky. We didn't see any caravans on the site mainly panel vans.

Great little site, brilliant walks straight from the site and all the pubs are dog friendly. Facilities a bit dated but served their purpose, will definatly be back.

Lovely site but as with all "Motorhome & Kennel club" sites, spoilt by the minority of antisocial dog owners who refuse to keep them quiet and under control. All C&CC sites are getting very expensive now. Facilities at Hayfield have been updated at least once since we used to go in the 80's so fairly modern but well used.

A pleasant site that accepted us as non-members; large hard-standing pitches with great views to the surrounding Dales. Access onto pitches is not permitted until 1.00pm although as we were still out of season, we were allowed on early. Booking definitely required. Great access to walking in the area and it didn't look too far into Hayfield village. Thought though it was an expensive site at over £27 pn out of season.

Great site for hiking Kinder Scout. The East end of the site has a hardstanding for Motorhomes, and a grassed area for tents. There are three basic camping pods. The West end is fully grassed for any kind of unit, plus three Glamping tents. Access down Kinder road could be tricky for large units. Site can get very busy in high season, especially at weekends, due to proximity of Manchester and Sheffield. Large groups sometimes appear. There is one adjacent pub and three more in Hayfield

Just a brilliant site. It is a brilliant site that is in a great location for walking and cycling in the Peaks.

It's not far from main roads and is very convenient for lots of places.

The facilities are great and the people running the site are very helpful.

Hayfield is a 10 min walk down a lovely little river and is a great little village with pubs and little shops.

We love staying here, as other reviews say, great for walks great for good pub, great for village, we walk our 4 and 8 year are old grandkids into the village following the river and spend time in the fantastic play area on route, they love it, as do we and our dog. Only issue today, as I came onto site with the 4 year old grand-daughter these were some dickheads playing music up at maximum volume so the whole site could hear them. I did go and ask them to turn it down but was greated with the comments, "It's not 10.00 yet" I did try and point out that they didn't have to play the music that loud even before 10, just got grunted at by the male animal in his den! Shame that unconsiderate people can spoil a great location for everyone. Wardens did nothing to help!

This is a great site. The walk into the village is along the river from the site and takes about 20 minutes. You'll find shops, pubs, cafes, takeaways in the village and all pubs are walking boot friendly. There are several walks from the site that are well described in a local guide that is available from the site office. The walks range in difficulty and length from one that you can push a pram around to slogs up hills. There's also a good cycle route from the village along a disused railway. Site facilities are what you'd expect and kept in very good order.

One of our favorite sites. Excellent walking country. Great pub nearby serving good food and beer. Pretty village further down the road. Tight access to site.

This site is in a superb location for walking and touring the Peak District. Access is a bit tight hence only motorhomes and tents are allowed. Pitches are level and toilets and showers are excellent, Easy walk into the village, by the river, with good pubs and cafes. Great walking directly from the site onto Kinder Scout.
