We nipped down to explore Orford Castle (English Heritage) during the week of half term, for the last warm period before winter blows in from the north. We were the only ones there.View all reviews by cshel
EHU was avaiable on three double posts.
We took the footpath from the gate across two fields and a wood to join the quiet narrow road into town, which was exciting on our return in the dark after a visit to the Kings Head PH, luckiky there were ckear skies abd a full moon.
The site at night was slightly eerie with the noise of strong winds blowing the tall trees around us, but they screened us well from feeling anything shaky.
Very nice if basic and remote site (field) easy level walk to town with 2 nice pubs about 1.5 miles away.View all reviews by tightfart
There's electric hook up, water and waste disposal. The lanes approaching are quite narrow. We'd come back.
Small level site on a farm just a short walk from the small town of Orford. Basic facilities - chemical waste disposal point, water and waste/recycling. Very quiet location with the exception of an occasional bird-scarer which stops at night. £12 per night including EHU. The site is mostly surrounded by trees and a high hedge but one side has views to the river and harbour.View all reviews by kevin1961
