Really nice little 5 pitch site. 3 pitches directly next to the river and 2 slightly set back. Each pitch has its own picnic table. No mobile signal or WiFi - short walk into Patterdale to the pub gets you access to their WiFi. TV looked to be via boosters only but fine if you have satellite. Lovely walk up through Waterfall Wood directly from the site. Great walk over the ridge by St Sunday Crag and back along Ullswater. No grey waste water disposal available.View all reviews by drunkenduncan
Quiet at night despite being close to the main road. The brook was noisey due to heavy rain but that added to the charm for me.View all reviews by jfte
Great location for walking.
Will be back but will approach from Penrith not Windermere so I will avoid the Kirkstone pass!
Brilliant. Free wifi, great walking, mountain biking location. 10 minutes to pubs in either direction. Great friendly staff. Whats not to like? Perfect IMHO.View all reviews by ozzo
Our stay at this camp site was so relaxing and peaceful. The staff on arrival were extremely helpful and informative. Transport and amenities are all within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Even tho the cl is next to the main road it was so quiet early evening. Scenery is as expected being in a national park beautiful. The use of a laundry at no extra cost was a bonus even tho we did not use it. Would recommend this site and use again myself when in the lake district .View all reviews by martinandapril2010
STAYED HERE MIDDLE OF APRIL . A CHARMING SITE WITH PLENTY OF WALKS, THE WALK THROUGH THE WATERFALL WOOD IS A HIDDEN GEM. THE KEEPER ON ARIVING WAS WAITING FOR US AND GAVE LOADS OF IMFORMATION . WE HAD FOOD AT THE PUD IN PATTERDALE WHICH WAS VERY NICE .ALSO THE STREAM GOING THROUGH THE SITE WAS VERY CALMING.THERE IS A PLAYING FIELD BY THE SITE SO PLENTY OF SPACE FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY.ALL IN ALL A FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY YOU CAN WALK AROUND THE VAST ESTATE. BARE IN MIND TV RECEPTION AND MOBLIE PHONE SIGNAL IS VERY POOR WE HAD TO GO INTO TOWN TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ANYONE WE NEEDED TO .WE WOULD COME BACK HERE AGAIN HAD A GREAT RELAXING TIMEView all reviews by phil1964
An improved CL, hard standing pitches have been enlarged, access improved and the site 'opened up' to allow more sunlight into some pitches. Access to fresh water OK but no motorhome access to grey water disposal. Easy walking distance to both Patterdale and Glenridding villages, also many walks.Estate office staff very helpful.View all reviews by spartans2015
Really enjoyed this place. Walk out the back gate and straight up on to the fells. Tried to go a few times since but it's been booked up. Book early. Not much of a view cause it in trees but few minute walk and it's outstanding.View all reviews by coulo
