This was our second visit to Irton House Farm, first in a caravan and this year in our motorhome. Ownership is currently passing to a younger generation and they could not have been more helpful. This site benefits from superb views looking down on Bassenthwaite Lake and in the far distance to the pretty town of Keswick. Visitors should know that the local bus service no longer operates near to the site, however, for the active walker and cyclist, this should be no problem. The site is nestled in the lee of Skiddaw and Catbells can be seen in the distance. For the children a visit to The Lake District Wildlife Park could be worth a visit. The Lake District has a wealth of attractive views, walks and locations, Irton Farm is, for us, at the top of the list.
