Parking for 6 vans along side of road next to the ramparts. No services other than waste bins. Short walk into the old town. Some restaurants and cafes open, but cathedral was closed. Lovely old town . We stopped for some lunch and a walk round the town and then moved on. We were the only van there at 4pm. Lovely views as you are quite high up.

Parked here whilst visiting Laon today. Bit disappointed that eg the knight templar church was clised for ‘several months’ for refurb, plus the tunnels. Obvs Covid affects stuff too and other sites closed due to that. So we had lunch and moved on, and therefore didnt use this parking ivernight, which we had intended to. Headed towards compeigne to see the armistice memorial. Parking great, level, great views.

Not for me. Didn’t feel safe. People hitting golf balls everywhere, I was a bag of nerves. (Off top of town wall down towards motorhome)We went for a walk into town, nothing open but had a walk round the beautiful Cathedral. Decided to move on just to relax for the evening.
Value for money rated 10 as it was free

We stopped here for a night travelling south from Calais. The medieval part of Laon is very pretty - the cathedral was only 5 minutes walk away and the christmas umbrellas were lit up. The town was very quiet - but it was Monday. Six large spaces are clearly marked. We were the only van there but it felt very safe. Quiet after the early evening traffic. No services at all but great for a night stop-over and lovely view in the morning.

Great free location with far reaching views. Located on the south side of town, and best to approach from the south. The front parking spaces are reserved for buses, so watch the signage carefully. Try also to avoid two traffic calming bumps that are quite noisy. Some vans will have no choice. No services, but city attractions are literally yards away.

Lovely place to stay but all spaces taken by cars, except one moho, when we got there.. ggrrr.. :-(.
Managed to squeeze in a space further down amongst the cars. Magnificent cathedral to visit, free entry.

Great overnight stopover just outside the town wall, 3 of 6 bays free on 6pm arrival following "cite medievale" suggested earlier by ninkasi. Superb morning view; reasonably quiet, light passing traffic only (Sat). Easy, quick on-foot access into the town and particularly the delightful cathedral. Le Palais Gourmand gallettes for dinner were superb, as was the service. The rest of the town was a bit tired (out of season), Citadel underground tour is currently suspended during construction work.

Good spot for an overnight, one of the only 2 official camping car parks. Pretty much level parking with easy access to the centre. Le Palaus Gourmand galette and crepes recommended!

We arrived late at night 11.00pm and had no trouble shoe-horning ourselves in line. Apart from a few boy racers and couples driving past we had a quiet nights sleep. Another van turned up after midnight but it was not a problem. The route to the Aire is a little torturous and steep in places but worth the view in the morning.

Roadside parking in long dedicated motorhome bays with no overnight parking restrictions. Fairly quiet overnight but a lot of traffic driving by between 7 and 8 am. Handy for visiting old town which has a selection of restaurants and bars. Best approach to avoid narrow roads is from the southern bypass and follow signs for medieval town.

Excellent for visiting the town. If your satnav wants to take you through the town don't do it; you may well end up exiting through one of the old town gates which has a sharp 90 degree turn immediately before & large units may find it difficult. If possible, try not to park by one of the small humps across the road, as the amount of extra tyre noise first thing in the morning has to be heard to be believed.

Parked overnight here- a very peaceful night waking to great view. No mention of only daytime parking. 6 motorhome pitches on road below ramparts outside the city walls as in the photo but there are another 6 in a carpark just on left as you go through the city wall here. The carpark has trees for shade and some grass. Awnings seem accepted too.

Great spot to stop for a night or two with fantastic views and very handy to the town. The Cathedral is very impressive and the general architecture and history is fascinating. We had lunch at Le Parvis and it was extremely good.

This is the perfect spot for campervans to park to visit Laon. There is space for 6 vans and a 10 minute walk to the Tourist information and Cathedral.
