This is just a car park at the edge of a large estate of flats that is on the river. The car park had 2 permanent caravans set up with ramshackle awnings and an old bus plus some tramps in a makeshift tent near a canoe centre. The site felt very unsafe. I would not trust leaving my motorhome here.View all reviews by SimonWhitmore66
Just a basic parking area by an ice rink and swimming pool. Approx 20 mins walk to the old town and cathederal(unfortunately closed for renovations). Beautiful sights and the palais de justice is worth a look at if you like gothic architecture.View all reviews by Dillon
The ice rink is free to enter and toilets are free, but, basic. I had to use the torch on my mobile as there were no working lights.
The abandoned bus is still in the car park, but no sign of the dog.
Plenty of space and felt safe. There was an abandoned bus and caravan in one corner but about 7 other motorhomes parked up. Took 20 mins to walk into the town full of nice bars and restaurants, beautiful cathedral and lots of shops. Easy to find with a sat nav. It seemed like a local had tied his dog up in the corner with the abandoned bus during the day but he wasn't there in the eveningView all reviews by peggie
Lots of space and vans in at the weekend. Felt safe and has good access into the city. Small store, butchers and bakery on the island if needed plus restaurants, tabac etc Warning for the doggy-soft-of-heart, there is a dog rescue place that you pass on the way in and one night there was a very unhappy dog there. Even I ended up wanting to adopt it! There is one kenneled by the coach/caravan combo - I did briefly see the residents, but he is chained up and protective of the space.View all reviews by vanessavan
Found it easy to find though with road works going on throughout the city it took longer than it should have to get there.View all reviews by kingpinken
We parked on the hard standing facing the river.
It takes about 25 minutes to walk from the site to the cathedral but a number 8 bus picks up from outside the hockey stadium and drops in the town €1.70 per person
The city is a delight to walk around and is a shopaholics dream
Near the parking place is a Spar shop, Baker and cash machine.
Spent two nights there and felt safe with frequent police patrols around the area.
An OK site next to sports centre. No facilities. Seemed to be safe enough although not the nicest area. There were quite a few motorhomes there, so safety in numbers!! It would be about 20 mins to walk into town (twice as long for me as i have mobilty issues) however there is a bus stop at the entrance to the sports centre (forgot to look what number bus!!) and it takes you into town for €3.View all reviews by Smurf60
Tricky to find but followed signs for Ile de Croix - it does look a bit desolate but plenty of space on a Thursday morning in late Sept. personally wouldnt overnight here but perfect parking spot for visiting old Rouen centre, cathedral etc and parking in City Centres is not easy, as we know! Theres a City Bike drop off near the parking, so we hopped on bikes from the Centre & cycled back to the Van.View all reviews by christamafine
There is nothing here except parking however, having said that, it is very handy for the city. About 25 mins walk to the Cathedral. There is a supermarket and butcher's on the island.View all reviews by mouldy
If you drive right up to the end there is a grass strip you can park on alongside the River. If you are at the front facing the city you have a good view. 2nd or 3rd and not so good.
The night we were here was the opening game of the ice hockey season so the car park got very busy from 6:45 on. if you wait until 10:30 it clears out. We went to the game and good it was. Rouen won 3-2 against Gap. fantastic atmosphere. Cost 16 Euros each. Rather than avoid it on match nights get here early and go to watch.
Important - as sited adjacent swimming pool (with outdoor and indoor pools and communal showers) and large ice skating arena make sure you do not arrive when an ice hockey match is on. Every area is filled with cars.View all reviews by curlytail
10 minutes cycle in to city. Popular Aire. Regular police patrols. Adjacent River Seine-not scenic but not bad. Ok for larger vehicles. Would use again.
Great site for visiting the city. Nice park area . Good surface and well spaced out site. No facilities but not really needed.View all reviews by royarnold
Ideal for Rouen town centre which we have passed in a traffic jam on numerous occasions. Rouen however is actually extremely nice. Unfortunatley this aire is not. Its a bit desolate and the natives use it as a doughnut performing area to see how they close they can get to your vans after they have smoked some joints. wont be returning, really not a great nights sleepView all reviews by suavecarve
