Plenty of room, services free and parking free. About an hour's walk along the cycle path to Saumur. Quit at night. Would use again.

Couple with 7yo child and dog. Without a doubt our favourite Aire in France. Have been coming here since we stumbled across it in our campervan and pre-child days. Spacious aire with room for perhaps 50 motorhomes. Charges have now been abolished so it's now free which might explain why it was a little busier than I remember. It is right on the South Bank of the Loire and is a short cycle (~15 mins) west into Saumur a lovely route which takes you past a magnificent church and the Chateau de Saumur. Head East making sure to follow the cycle path signs and you will be taken on wonderful journey through Trogolodyte caves and Loire vinyards and ending up in Montsureaut.

What a smashing place. 2.5 miles along flat cycle path to get to Samaur which has both a castle and a cathedral along with stunning architecture. Site has good facilities, flat pitches and loads of shade should you want it. Quite. Horses on one side, river on the other. Restaurant across the road fabulous. Theres a place to buy the local wine just 100 mtrs on the right outside. The local police are fabulous. We lost our keys and someone took the trouble to take them into the station and the police came and found us through switching on the alarm. Would not hesitate to return.

Great location, very quiet and river was only a stones throw away. Went to the market in Saumur in the morning. Great very clean toilets that clean themselves after use. These did lock during the middle of the night (about 22:00 - 06:00 we presume).

Arrived on a very warn but cloudy day on a Wednesday afternoon a young lady collected our €7.20. We stayed for one night. We checked out the facilites all ok even the toilet was clean. This site is on the side of the river which is a short walk away. We are sorounded by cycle routes so if you have a bike this could be for you. Being Wednesday the restaurant across the road is closed tonight but a guy came round with a pizza menu he cooke pizza on site on wednesdays prices range from €7 to €10.50

Stayed here one night. As described its a huge grassy area with trees on banks of Loire. Sat TV blocked by trees in places.
Takes 20 mins to cycle to Samur on the path from the site which goes straight to heart of town.
Site has water, waste dump, toilet dump, recycling and a electronically cotrolled unisex toilet which was fine. Pulling off the services is steep and i grounded our bike rack so reverse if you are long and low. Restaurant just outside gates was closed sadly as looked good. Bar adjacent had loud party till late but otherwise very peaceful. About 10 vans in situ. Lovely spot.
€7.50.

Good aire next to the River Loire, although it was actually IN the Loire when we arrived. Flooded and closed although we then realised it closes for winter anyway (not surprisingly). The services were decent and it was a good location for the dogs. The 3 mile cycle ride into Saumur looked like it might be interesting. Definitely a place to revisit in season.

Spacious aire with water, CD, toilets. 13 vans, 13 ladies and 10 dogs in our party, to the astonishment of the chap who came collecting the £6.75 charge in the evening. Nearby restaurant pricey but good. Can order bread etc the night before from boulangerie next to the site at 1 euro for a baguette.

Good big Aire on old municipal campsite. Pitches all grass but it rained heavily while we were there and we got off the pitch easily. Lovely cycle ride into Saumur partly through the woods. Access to the cycle path from the back of the site. Price is now €7 per night.

Really nice area to park up for the night. Nice, clean toilet and a big covered area, with benches and tables, so we could eat breakfast in the pouring rain.
Will be returning to this place in the future and explore some more, hopefully when the weather is a bit better!

Great site to stop at and choose your own pitch. Nothing marked out but everyone seemed to be sensible when parking up. A very friendly chap comes round at about 18:00hrs to collect 5€ + 0.40c tax. He has a ticket machine so you know it's him and not some local having a laugh! If you have a bike then there is a great bike track which takes your into Saumur within 20 minutes I would say. We did walk half way with our dogs. There is a restaurant and a wine producer within the village but not much else. Very quite and peaceful through the evening so a great place to stop over on your way further south. Would definitely stay again but take a scooter maybe to nip to the shops.

A good quiet and peaceful defunct campsite, all facilities like water/grey/black dump at entrance to site, NO ehu but parking in your own space anywhere was a bonus, baker comes every morning with fresh baguettes/croissants
Fee of €5 collected every evening at around 18.00hrs
