Stayed one night 07/05/21; great stopover as travelling further north. The drive in as others said, very industrial with huge number of fly tipping prosection warnings along road. One sign ‘private road’. Dont be alarmed or turn back. When you get to end it’s full of dog walkers, bird watchers & other campervans staying for night also. Weather/ sunsets/ views all beautiful with industrial Redcar (2 miles) and British Steel lining coastline and Saltburn in far distance. Photo opportunities were excellent. Cars drive up /back at various times (maybe doggers as others said?) but we didnt see anything happening and a great night sleep. Definitely recommend. Great beach for dog walking.

I have developed a fondness for “gritty northern” locations and this one is particularly superb......for me..... So grateful for this site and previous reviews, giving us the confidence to drive through the industrial wasteland leading to it. The beach is superb. The little harbour full of a clutter of fishing boats quite charming and the corresponding “village” of fishing huts, most with chinneys fkr their woodburners intriguing. The Tees estuary provides lots of interest with the shipping traffic and the wind farm gives an elegant backdrop, which changes colour quite dramatically as the sun sets. We will be back.......

Middle aged couple

This is definitely a hidden gem. As others have said, when you see the Private Road sign and all the industrial area it feels as if you are in the wrong place. Keep going and you come to a lovely spot for an overnight stay.
Lots of walkers and a few other campervans.
Car full of young people turned up playing loud music about 10pm but they literally stayed 5 mins and left. Would defintiely return.
No services or bins.

it's a sad drive passed rusting and abandoned works to reach the end. Lots of rubbish and a mountain of dog poo bags on the beach. Interesting watching the shipping though. After dark it changes. Pitch black. At the end there was a middle aged oik with his lover having a barbecue. They were so pissed that they could hardly stand. Slept in their car! 6 other campers and mohos but spread out over 100 meters. Cars rushing by every 20 minutes to the end and back again every 20 minutes until after midnight. Strange shouts from somewhere. There was a rumbling sound like overhead planes all night. Didn't feel entirely safe. Some dogging going on in a nearby car too. Luckily no thump thump music!

Approach ugly but Beautiful spot in nice weather, exposed in strong winds. Ignore 'private rd' signs on access road. Well used picnic spot. Fantastic wide beach. Bring Binocs - Lots of birdlife, ideal point to see ships enter/exit the Tees. Great Sunrises/Sunsets. Superb walks. Park up free on verges on last half mile of promentory rd. Room for many mcvans & long vans. Historic WWI gun emplacement/breakwater. Light hum from refinery on other bank. Police cruise by. Quiet at night. Excellent.

Great site with easy access and plenty of room for any size van. Views toward the industrial skyscape on one side and great beach with wind turbines on the other. Highly recommended for a peaceful night and unhurried day. Would definitely use again.

The entry road says private land but full of locals walking dogs. Reasonably quiet just a few cars passing by until 10.00.pm. Would use again nice to watch the ships coming into the harbour and miles of beach to walk our dogs.

Ignore the no access private land sign at the end of the road. If you look past the industrial plants watch the ships enter the harbour, great sea view to wake up to. Very quite at night but many locals use the area to walk there dogs so a little busy up until dusk.

Stayed here last night. great little spot.
Nice beach to walk the dogs.
Quite busy with boats passing so plenty to see when you're sitting having a drink.
Lovely area of the country.
Don't be alarmed by the drive into the location.

Stayed for a night and thoroughly enjoyed the view and the quietness. Must admit that driving out there I thought it wasn't the best idea as feared it was too isolated, but once there, we found a reasonably level park in amongst the dozen or so other motorhome'rs. Spoke with one gentleman and he assured us it was safe and we did see one police car drive through before we went to sleep. Evidently the police patrol regularly each night as part of harbour protection. As there is no cost to parking here, there are no facilities.

Great location for dog walking / bird watching. Stayed on a saturday night, there was another 5 campers and motohomes but plenty of space. Unfortunatly the fog came down and it is near the shipping foghorn but didnt bother us too much. Great walks along the beach to Redcar or the south gare.
Small cafe near boat yard looked ok and will use it next time.
NB, this location will be busier in the summer when anglers are targeting mackeral especially on a weekend.
