Well, it's different! And absolutely charming. Basically you're in the heart of a busy farm and riding stables, "pitched" on its all-tarmac parking area. As well as chocks (somewhat sloping), you'll need your doormat (or shoe change) because of the biz left everywhere by hens, ducks, geese and peacocks that roam freely around. As you're allowed to! You'll pass Berkshire's biggest koi carp pool. "Kept as pets". Nine-foot deep, you're allowed to take a swim! More follows in 2nd review....View all reviews by timsinc
Because of reviews here character limit , part 2. If you're here at the right time, will see young lass who breaks in and trains horses. And teaches youngsters. On practical front: There's tap, bins, shower and loo a few steps away. There are washing machines and dryers (if you show no fear geese you pass to the hut friendly) - "leave couple of pounds on machine top". What, with really friendly hosts, a great experience for a tenner a night.View all reviews by timsinc
We stayed here overnight. We were parked just off the owner's driveway with our own electic hook up.View all reviews by Kevinpaula
Facing paddocks. Surrounded by chickens and peacocks. Three friendly dogs also pop along to say hello.
There are electric gates and the owner gives you a fob so you can come and go as you please.
There are toilets and a shower attached to the owner's property. They are immaculate. Water tap also available.
The site is just off the road but is really quiet.
For dinner we collected pizza from a nearby Dominos. They told us they would have delivered.
Owner is really helpful and friendly. Encouraged us to ask her if we needed anything.
Well what a little gem this is, we headed back from dover and needed a 1 night stop as we were heading to newport to collect our new motorhome. We pulled up by the secure double gates with cctv and pushed the bell, we drove down a long immaculate drive with horses in the fields and were greeted by a lovely friendly lady who told us where everything was, followed by her dogs, hens, cockrels and peacocks, who are all as friendly. There are toilets, showers, sinks, water and bins on site, and plenty of seats to sit and watch the wonderful animals and views. Within a few miles are cash machines, supermarkets and many takeaway outlets. My only regret is i didnt have longer to stay, but will be backView all reviews by sharonalan
if you're looking for a busy site with activities and entertainment, move on. This is somewhere you can park up and feel like you have got away from everything. Ever thought of chucking it all in and getting a small holding? This is the place you would want to buy. Annette has chooks, peacocks, doves, horses and dogs on the farm. All friendly and not noisy. Parking is on tarmac backing onto a lovely, wild wood that can be accessed for walks. There is a pub and convenience shop 15 mins walk away through the woods. For anything other than that, you'd need to drive. It's great to sit of an evening and watch the horses being groomed then exercised in the field. A really friendly place to stay.View all reviews by mouldy
