The landlord Tim may act polite but he is a horrible little man, he knocked us up at 23:00 saying we left the pub after drinking but not eating (due to my wife’s disability) and he was issuing a £10 charge or we would get a parking ticket. It is also difficult to access the car park due to low overhanging trees, it is situated on a very busy, noisy cross roads and it was difficult to sleep. I tried to explain why we did not eat but he was moody, foul mouthed and unreasonableView all reviews by gord
Fantastic stop over. Lovely food and friendly staff. Looking forward to full english breakfast. Theres dome beauiful walks and not far from monsal trail. Highy recommendView all reviews by donnawilkinson
Visited briefly today but decided not to stop as there was overhanging branches and ivy at the entrance to the car park. I can’t comment any further l am sure based on the previous reviews that everything else is fine.View all reviews by broadsranger

Parked up for 2 nights while walking the local area. An excellent base. The staff were friendly and welcoming, offer us water if we needed it. The Bar is dog friendly and serves good food and beer. The parking area is level and at the rear of main car park. There is a shop, cafes and a garage is adjacent to the pub. Enjoyed a few days walking the local area. We were one of 5 vans parked up on the Friday night.View all reviews by richb600

The rear car park is away from the road and room for at least 10 vans. We had a lovely walk along the river and a well earned pint at the end. If visiting the Peak district give this place a try.
Very friendly, stopped overnight, very peaceful They have just started opening up for breakfast at 8am. We both had the large breakfast- really nice and great value for money. Would go back.View all reviews by jshacknjue

Good pint and relaxed. DOG FRIENDLY!
Know this pub but never stopped over before. Easy access and close to Bakewell, Baslow, Eyam... large flat car park, good selection food and drinks, no facilities except when pub open. Landlord very welcoming and friendly. Little traffic or any other noise. Shop, cafe, filling station next door.View all reviews by ulysses
