Walked through the site by accident and decided to stay the night as it was so lovely. Great facilities (showers could have been more powerful) and lovely site right on the lake. Great cafe and shop.

Stayed for one night in Sept 2020 in a motorhome. Booked the previous evening on their website. No EHU pitches left but non EHU available for £20. (EHU are away from lakeside.) Take route advised in their email via Tirril as Pooley Bridge under repair. Showers & toilets all open, clean and bright. Several pitches on lake side available when we arrived at 12.30 - great to launch our paddle boards. It’s a large grassy site, hills and trees. Great outdoor cafe onsite. Can hire canoes & paddleboards onsite too.
15 min walk into Pooley Bridge along Ullswater walkway - lots of outdoor seating at pubs. Few shops. Plenty hillwalking routes nearby. We’ll definitely come back.

Superb site, friendly staff and a location with views that are simple to die for! We had four nights from Friday with a lakeside pitch. Facilities were spot on they have a lovely cafe too. Loads of walks and boat trips so you can leave the van put, not to mention the water sports on the lake. Highly recommend and will return.

We got lucky and found a spot right by the water. Amazing views and super easy access to the lake. We brought our own Kayaks and even though we only stayed 1 night they let us park for the whole day after so we could enjoy a day on the lake. Busy popular site so booking essential. Facilities were clean. Didn't use the cafe so can't review. Would definitely visit again.

Fabulous. A busy family campsite on the shores of beautiful Ullswater. Given the numbers of people I was amazed at how pristine the washrooms were at all times. A credit to the staff. There are a limited number of hook up pitches and a good number of hard standings. Hook ups are allocated in advance but everything else is ‘first come first served’. Great food served from Cathy’s Diner, the breakfast baps are humungous. We recommend this site to anyone who wants easy access to the lake, walking in the fells or a short stroll to a village with some good pubs.

A really amazing find if you love ‘proper campsites’ rather than formal caravan club type regimented sites

Directly on the lake with a 15 walk into Pooley Bridge, large open fields with no set pitches, new toilet blocks, plenty of showers, a cafe, shop, motorhome service point and really friendly staff.

Very much a family site so not somewhere to come if you dont like kids, but for me, this is one of my top all time pitches!

Beautiful lakeside location. Clean site even tho it's a working farm. Spectacular views and very helpful staff. Noise curfew of 11pm so no large groups. Well stocked shop onsite. Motorhome service point... Easy walk into Pooley Bridge along the lake

Excellent site, wonderful staff, clean, tidy. Great views and walks to amenities, pubs and shops. Though there is one less tree after last week.

I very rarely leave a poor review but.. we visited this site on a weekend, possibly in the week/school days the site would be fine but Can honestly say i have never experienced anything like it, It was like being at a pop festival, hundreds of people arriving on Friday evening/Saturday morning, with tents etc, no marked pitches so everyone pitching up wherever there seemed to be a few feet of spare grass, no consideration about safety. Cars/motorhomes weaving between tents where children were playing. Dogs constantly barking. At one point on Saturday evening people were complaing about the constant fog from so many instant bbqs being lit, so close together.

Nice open site with level pitches. Bear in mind this is a working farm, if you're expecting peace and quiet you will be disappointed, there is a constant noise of sheep (they're being shorn right now, I'm glad we weren't by the barn as the shearers had a loud radio on).

The facilities are basic, the toilets are temporary blocks and the showers are a long way from the camping fields. If you want electric then you will be furthest from the shoreline, so pay most get least :(

A superb place to visit, close to Pooley Bridge. Stunning views and park up wherever you fancy although it can get waterlogged in places. Very friendly staff who will help in anyway they can. It can work out expensive if you go for a week in a campervan with an awning and electric.
