Lovely spot overlooking the river with it’s beach and swimming. Lots of parking spots in the sun or shade mainly level. Facilities all working during the state of alert for COVID 19 and restaurant open. Tourist meal 3 courses and coffee €8 per person. Only problem we had in early July were flies but we are finding them everywhere we go

One of our favourite places to visit. Great location if you love rural Portugal and peace and quiet. The restaurant does good typical Portuguese food at €7 in the week for 3 courses and coffee. It's a bit more on a weekend, but worth it.
It's now €1 for 100ltr of water and €3.50 if you want EHU.
We are in a Tag axle 8.56m and our friend has been in his RV. The timber lorries and buses use the access roads to the village, so no size should have access problem.
It's great for walking too. Well worth a visit ????

A Portuguese motorhomer told me that the water for the W.c.and the supposedly drinking water are both pumped up from the river. He had an argument with the restaurant owner about this last year but the owner said it was ok. I don’t think it is! A lovely location but overshadowed by this info!

Great free aire in very rural area. The effects from the fire are still visable but area is recovering. Electricity is available for €3.50 arranged with bar. Only 3 vans when we were there early September. Very friendly staff & locals in bar & great value meal 3 courses €7. Lovely walks along by the river. Very quiet & peaceful overnight.

This is always a favourite of ours. We recently stopped here and found it virtually empty only three other vans, which was most unusual!
As always friendly faces and an excellent meal and plenty of it.
One change we found is that you now pay for water 1€ per 100 litres.

Six months after the fire, and recovery is well underway. Plenty of greenery under the charred trunks, and services are all operating, although some of the most picturesque pitches are still closed off. No fire smell, except on shoes.
The restaurant is open, still serving great value meals at €7 per head.
Lovely village two miles away with a decent range of small shops.
Great for dog walking, exploring, cycling around country lanes.
One of our best stops yet, and will get even better.

Recovery from the effects of the fire have begun and non of the buildings in the area appear to have been damaged, There is now a €1 change for water but it’s still on our list of most loved places to visit. Sadly the weather was bad when we arrived and the access road was very boggy and potholed we were the only van here and as the heavy rain continued we took the decision to move on this year but will visit again.

This is one of my all time favourite stops but unfortunately, I arrived a week after terrible fires destroyed vast areas of Portuguese woodland, including the surrounding area of this site. Fortunately, the restaurant was saved but no power or water was available and the restaurant was closed. Although charred, the river walks are still beautiful and will recover. A great place for walking, running or cycling, there are miles and miles of trails to be explored. There's a small village closeby.

Nice countryside views of river and woods, with walks into the mountains or the old village. Cafe/bar on site 3 course meal + bread olives coffee and wine for €7. Breadman calls in the morning around 10am. No problem with chairs, tables, awnings etc.
