Had to pick our overnight spot carefully as the area was still part flooded after the heavy rain and river flooding over during the previous week. Photos added.

We found this an excellent quiet spot close to town. The locals are very friendly including the bulls. The bulls came rubbing up and licking our van very early in the evening we just shooed them away. No facilities but a clean place to stay.

We stayed one night and it was very peaceful, once the cows had moved on! We ended up moving from the smaller carpark on the left (which seems to be on their regular route) to the main one on the right as you come in, they didn’t bother us there!! No facilities except for rubbish bins, but a good wild camp on the river with lovely walks.

At first it seemed idyllic in a lovely park next to the river. Only 20 min walk into center. At around 5pm some cows came into the park. They took a liking to our bike rack bag and took quite a bit of shooing. We moved to the park most used and the cows stayed away until around 10pm when we were the only vehicle there. Pulling and chewing again we chased them away. We decided to move away at that point and found a layby just on the outskirts.

Stayed on the way to Scotland. There are a number of car parks in the park, the best being the furthest on the left. Very quiet night. Short walk through the lovely park to shops, pubs etc. Bins in the park but no other facilities. 5 minute drive to supermarket and fuel.

Stayed here on Friday Night, 8th March 3019, nice stopover. Had no issues with lifestock. Some traffic passing but not excessive.

Lovely place to stop in a country park owned by the city council. No restrictions although the entrance over the cattle grid is tight. Car park to right as you enter is sloping and close to the road. Further down on the left is a smaller parking area which is nicer. Very quiet overnight. No facilities. Rubbish bins in car parks. Idea for visiting Carlisle, 10 mins walk to city, or overnight en route to or from Scotland. Great for dogs.

we stayed here on the 10th October and by the 13th October the whole park was underwater as the river floods so beware in the winter or when there are large storms. The young bullocks liked the motorhome at night and rocked the van by rubbing. No damage caused but they managed to untie one of the ties on the silver screen so be warned. And best to use the coordinates rather than the post code as that takes you the other side of the main road but a nice location.

Fantastic location used as a stopover on way home from Scotland. Make sure you pick the correct carpark because the one we stopped at first was right next to the cattle grid and a bit noisy as cars hit the grid. Surprisingly quiet considering how close to centre of Carlisle. Loads of dog walkers but they didn't really start turning up until 8ish!

Good spot. We too stayed further down, on the left by the football field. Lots of cows around but a quiet night. Arrived late, left early

Entrance over cattle grid looked narrow, but was fine. (2.4m wide Bailey).
Very nice spot overlooking river Eden. Too many trees for our satellite.
Good overnight spot.

Layby/parking area in a nice little park on the bank of the river Eden close to Carlisle centre. Very popular with dog walkers and some cars passing on the road but quiet during the night.
