Stayed overnight in car park which is tarmac, flat & has trees around it. School next door but during hols when we stayed so no noise. Pub is nice outside and inside. Beer garden area really good & 3 benches out the front. 4 beers on Harvest Pale, Ghost Ship, Black Sheep & Theakston. Had a Sunday dinner which was really good. Staff & locals very welcoming. We cycled to Bingham to catch train into Notts to watch cricket & returned later for some more drinks which they were happy with.View all reviews by GBugler
Stayed one night at the ox in our Campervan. Rick and Traci were very welcoming and excellent hosts The food was very well prepared and delicious. They also serve excellent range of well kept ales. Will definitely stay again soonView all reviews by DuBBz
Note previous my review should’ve been 5 stars for all as a Campervan/Motorhome stopover. Facilities were marked down as it’s a pub! Does detract from it being a perfectstopoverView all reviews by DuBBz
Stayed here on our way up to Harrogate from the south coast. The manager and staff were most accommodating. You only need to pop in for a drink, but we chose to eat as well and we weren’t disappointed. Parked at the bottom of the car park without a problem. Very, very quiet!View all reviews by juliestevefoy
Great, friendly pub in a lovely quiet village. Car park at the rear is flat with no noise from surroundings. We were here on a Monday when they had a very good humoured music session which was very enjoyable. Hope we can get here again sometime and sample the food. Highly recommended.View all reviews by mandolinvan
I stayed here for 2 nights and found the place very welcoming and friendly. I are there on the Saturday but was too late back to try the lunch on Sunday so they recommended a cracking place few miles away.View all reviews by paxtonk
The parking is at the southern end of the car park so don't expect your satellite to work (I didn't care) or for the sun to get to your solar panels on mainly dull day.
I loved it here!
I forgot to mention in my review how well the ale was kept. There were 4 beers on, three from Theakstons Brewery as well as Black Sheep. It would have been easy to drink in there all eveningView all reviews by paxtonk
We stopped here on the way down to London, and will definately stop here again. Tucked away off the main street of a quiet pretty village, the Durham Ox is a gem of a place.View all reviews by bibicus
The food was great (our two home cooked meals were much better than the majority of pubs fare), and the service was equally as good. The waitress was very attentive and brought us fresh drinks all night.
The car park is big and flat and with out passing car noise.
We stayed here for one night on a Sunday. We didn't eat as their food service stopped at 1600hrs., so can't comment on quality, but the menu looked good and it is a popular pub. However we did slake our thirst in suitable fashion. A traditional 'local', with a welcoming landlord, friendly locals, good beer, and situated in a lovely quiet village. The carpark was easily accessible, and at 6pm on a Sunday was almost empty. We will certainly return.View all reviews by pilotpete
I have not rated it in value for money because we didn't pay any money,so it's a bit of daft question.
Lovely Pub , excellent service and friendly staff. Only had a bar snack but it was fantastic, Brie & Bacon roll. The previous comment made note of the tight entrance to the car park, yes it is narrow but not enough to cause concern. Located next to a school (I think it was) so could be noisy at playtime etc. Just a pub stopover so no facilities or view.View all reviews by windrush
