Stopped one night last night on a flat carpark to the side of a fabulous pub.

Great food, good beers and the most friendly owners who made us feel so welcome.

The pub itself is in Embsay. About a mile and half walk into skipton. Took about 30 minutes on the toads.

Dog friendly. We will definitely be heading back!

Thank you Cavendish Arms! ????

Welcoming hosts and great for Embsay Railway or a walk into Skipton. Only one EHU for which they charge £15. ( A little expensive but not compulsory.) Good "pub " food and service.

We can only concur with the previous reviews. It is unbelievable how friendly the landlord, landylady, their son and the locals are. Spent 2 nights here and will definitely be back. Excellent food and walks. No EHU required so was not a problem. Highly recommended.

Two lovely nights stay, we took their offer of electric hookup (they have only one) & long lead is needed, it cost £10 per night 16amp. I think this makes us feel we don't have to be in the pub all the time, although we had a meal & drinks on both days. Nice area & just over a mile to cycle or walk into Skipton. The owners are very friendly & accommodating.

Stayed Saturday night here. £10 for EHU. Landlady made us very welcome. Pub food was excellent and not overpriced. Woodland dog walk is straight from the pub car park and no lead needed. Nice and quiet overnight, just the sounds of owls and other wildlife. Would definitely stay again. We were the only motorhome staying but felt very safe. Dog was made very welcome in the pub.
Embsay steam railway station is next to the pub. Train runs between Embsay and Bolton Abbey but only on Sundays at this time of year.

We stayed on Saturday night. Called for a drink to let the land lady know we were there, as I had called the day before. The car park is nice and flat. We went a lovely walk through the wood. It is very quiet at night The Following morning we went on the steam train to Bolton Abbey. It’s about 1.5 miles away to the Abbey. It’s a gorgeous walk along the river. When we got back we went in for one of the best Sunday lunches Iv had out. Delicious! Very friendly, so much we stayed an extra night!

Having stopped here at short notice we will definitely be back. The landlady and staff were lovely. We had food in the restaurant and the dog came too. Normally dogs allowed in bar area but it was full and already a dog in there. Whilst in there we got chatting to a lovely local couple and we were made to feel really welcome. Bonus was we were a couple of minutes walk to Embsay Steam Railway unfortunately it was not running that day so we’ll have a return trip. 20 min walk to Skipton.

Echo all other positive reviews, staff and locals really friendly we also stayed 2 nights. Dog friendly and we ate in the bar which was no problem although they also have a pleasant dinning room. Extensive and lovely home made food. Directly next door to the steam train station and we got the train to Bolton abbey and had a beautiful long walk before returning by the train. Check the dates though it doesn't run every day. Highly recommended.

One EHU which we paid for but has water for other motorhomes staying on carpark for free if eating in the pub. Friendly staff & locals made us welcome. Good pub grub. Can walk into Skipton but there is a bus stop with timetable if your feet can't take it. Embsay station within walking distance if you want to go to Boulton Abbey. Great place to stopover in fact we did two nights

Fantastic stopover. we moved on here after being let down elsewhere and received a very warm welcome. The large car park is fairly level and motorhomes are actually encouraged by the owner. One EHU is available if required for a charge of £10 per night, but otherwise there was no charge. Water is also available. The pub offers great real ales, and excellent food with very friendly staff. You might need to book a table at weekends. This pub is very popular. We actually ended up staying 2 nights.

Phoned day before just to confirm it was ok. Nice friendly answer no problem at all just park in bottom of car park. Travelling from Skipton itself, caution turning right into car park. It's a sharp turn. Nice level car park with a few trees at bottom end giving a little shelter. Setup overlooking small field. Warm greeting from bar staff, sat out in the beer garden then decided what to have for our evening meal. Great value food, had steak and chips with lovely fresh veg. Loads of choice on menu and specials board, nice beers. Would definitely recommend the site.

Nice quiet spot, best to ring before arriving as does get quite a few regulars staying over. Use of pub toilets when over and hose pipe for water if required. Nice level parking area, although tight turn from the road. Good walking for dogs and right next door to Embsay steam railway. Good pub food, did us the steak deal although it wasn't on the night we stayed. Friendly staff. Great for walking into Skipton. Will definitely go again.
