We chose this site due to an excellent deal with Red Funnel and taking the opportunity to meet up with old friends who now live on the island. Think it's an over hyped site as the facilities are dated. However fully serviced hard standing pitches are excellent. We came Bank Holiday so lots! of children. 5 minute walk to Waitrose and 10 minute walk to the chain ferry to Cowes, which is very nice. Views from the pitch over the Solent but with a power station right in front of you. Good bus serviceView all reviews by chrisb
Stayed August bank holiday for a few days and it was quite busy, as others have said the location is excellent and if you get a deal with Red Funnel ferries it works out good value for money. Bottom of the site is open grass pitches and the top of the site is hard standings. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We were more than happy with this site and will be returning next year.View all reviews by gingerbabs
Amazing location, right on the sea and an easy walk into cowes. Well maintained and clean facilities. We were in the camping field as don’t really like formal pitches and we had the whole field to ourselves, uninterupted sea views! It is on quite a slope though so you need chucks.View all reviews by danmj
It’s slightly at odds with its own website which makes it look like a large holiday camp, it isnt, its small with out lots of entertainment etc, i view that as a good thing but depending what you want, you could be disappointed.
Bar area very dated, no map or local info provided but we found our way around okay.
Mainly static vans though
Great stop , paid £150 for 3 nights here with ferry crossings included with Red Funnel. Access to the prom is bottom of the site with a small cafe and easy walk into town.Large supermarket in town where you can get the bus to Ryde or Newport to access the rest of the island. The big supermarkets (Tesco,Asda ,Sainsbury's) were all selling fuel at 15p a litre than the mainland. Bus passes can also be used on the local busses.Campsite has all facilities heated pool, good showers and a pub with food.View all reviews by rebbyvid
This site is very convenient for the Island. 5 minute drive from the Red Funnel ferry terminal. facilities are good and well kept. Short walk to Osbourne House, or the ferry to West Cowes. Very good deals can be had off season with Ferry and camping package from the Red Funnel web site.View all reviews by captgeoff
