I can only agree with the other posts, very peaceful and quiet, black sky at night, not a sound. Will make a bee line when in the area again.View all reviews by doogle
1 man and his dog, ideal picnic spot for an overnight stay. Quite B road next to the river and below the castle which is very worth the climb to visit. Plenty of info boards telling the story of the castle. There is a lower part of the picnic area that you can safely let dogs of leads.View all reviews by taffytravels

A great place to stop over.
The walk up to the castle ruins is a must.
Mobile reception ok.
Some big trucks rumble by but otherwise quiet & woukd stop over again.
Still no restrictions at time of posting. Spent a very quiet night here (apart from the weather!) Tricky to find a level spot but it’s a great place.View all reviews by WanderWebb
Absolutely lovely spot to park up for the night. Quiet location, views are stunning from the nearby castle remains. Definitely be using again. No facilities but who cares when you find a gem of a place to stay for free.View all reviews by mcand
Lovely, peaceful stop. Next to a river and a short walk away from the castle ruins, which is well worth a walk up.View all reviews by karengd
There were two other small motorhomes when we were there so it was very quiet. Parking for 3 easily and another 3-4 if there aren't any cars there.
No facilities at all, including no bin. But none of that was an issue for us.
Would thoroughly recommend
Absolutely amazing stopover. You can walk to the river or up to the castle.... really interesting. The car park is lovely with picnic benches to sit at. Would definately use againView all reviews by katecovill

What a lovely secret spot with your own private castleView all reviews by noelshapton
Peaceful shaded spot with picnic tables. Fairly level tarmac parking. Quiet and dark at night. Only 10 mins off the main A48.View all reviews by peterborthwick
Look out for overhanging trees!
A path climbs steeply! up to the ruined castle with stunning views along this beautiful rural valley.
We have overnighted here many times with no issues.
