A great site that we thoroughly recommend. Beautiful art, pottery, birds and gardens are all around. Each pitch has it's own area with astro turf and some trees and plants. A lovely touch that really makes a difference. The bar is friendly and cheap. Oranges, honey and avocados are for sale in the morning. We cycled easily to the coast at Almacao de Pera (30 minutes), the small town of Pera is 10 minute cycle with a few bars, restaurants and small supermarkets. Guia is 10 minute in the opposite direction with similar services plus a shopping complex. Mikkis is quirky, unique, creative and a wonderful place to stay, relax and explore. We paid 40 euros for 4 nights all in.

My second visit and while the site in the main remains very good it has been ruined by dogs running everywhere with the site owners making no effort to enforce the rule about dog owners keeping them on leads. they are even in and behind the bar and in the kitchen, the final straw was one cocking its leg against a cooler behind the bar watched by staff who didn't even clean up the puddle, I left early despite having paid in advance. If you like out of control barking dogs this is a place for you

A wonderful Aire - must be unique in the way it is set out - stayed 3 days but community meals every 2 days -limited choice but cheap and a great way to meet others along the large tables in great bar area- a bit like a garden centre with plants/pottery/paintings all over the place along with parrots in cages - 3showers - basic but ok .5e- washer/dryer + usual water facilities - it might be a pool but looked like a big fish pond - our weather poor so no dipping- safe - would return - 10e inc EHU

My first experience of this place and I like it, I almost never use camp sites as those I have tried in the past seem to charge extra for every little thing however here you pay for the pich, and extra just for EHU if you need it. The bar has been open every night and the food looks good, very friendly, swimming pool but not heated. Short drive to shops and beaches.

Great place to stay. We spent a week at Mikki’s in Oct/Nov 2017 and loved it. You can’t book but there are about 120 pitches of various sizes so you should find a spot. Its all very relaxed here, the bar provides a great central place for gathering in the evnings. They do meals 3 or 4 nights a week and the food is great, some nights they will have live music and I guess other activities that didnt happen while we were here. The pool is fab, we were in it in November!we will be back!

Great site a little off the beaten track where we spent 8 days. 10 mins on the bike to Pera and 30 to Armaçao de Pera. All facilities but a tiny niggle is that only one shower stays at a constant temp. The others go from too hot to cold. A very friendly site run by a Dutch couple, Mikki and her husband. €7 pn normal pitch €9 large one. €0.50 Shower. Electric extra but not much. Nice bar with a lovely drop of vino tinto at €1.20. Would definitely return.

A great site in the countryside just outside of Pera and not far from the coast. Pitches on two levels for smaller vans (up to 8m) and larger RV pitches available. Clean toilet/shower blocks with hot water. Bar open in the evenings which serves limited food which you order earlier in the day. Pottery workshop on site, free wifi (in bar), electric available. Special offers available if you stay over a week. Great friendly place have stayed here one month and then a further 10 day stop (2016). Order bread/rolls daily at the bar.

March 2015. There are two ways in to Mikki’s, which was a newly opened site - our GPS took us via the hardest, a narrow, bumpy sand track but we got there and it was well worth it. The other entrance is easier to negotiate. The site is in three distinct areas: the lower level which is opposite to the bar, an upper level and another area a bit further away for the large motorhomes.

The facilities are clean and although there were only a couple of toilets and showers these were being added to.

We had electricity and a tap between two pitches, waste disposal was further up the site. Wi-Fi was available in the bar area. The charge was 7.50€ per night. There was also a laundry service. Deliver your dirty washing to the bar area and it would come back a couple of days later washed, dried and ironed for 7.50€ a load.

Our intention was the stay a couple of nights but like another site ended up staying a week. The staff are very friendly and helpful and hopefully we’ll go there again in 2016.
