Stopped here last week on our exploration of the Northumberland coast. Only a mile from the car park for dunstanburgh castle too.
Nice pub, great setting, not your typical concrete car park. Staff were very friendly.
Menu was a bit limited but the food was lovely.
Real ales too which was also a good point.
Nice fire for our Jack Russell to curl up in front of.
Would recommend you call first as they are limited to 2 campervans.
Will definitely Eat and stop here again.

A delightful overnight stop. we parked in the far corner of the huge woodland carpark and it was if we were almost wild camping.
We ate at the pub, the food was good pub grub, with a good fish menu.
There is a super walk from the carpark into Craster, all well marked footpaths and footways, so no schlepping along the road, and only about 3/4 mile to the Jolly Fisherman in Craster. We were even treated to a school of porpoises gambolling in the sea right in front of us while we enjoyed our drinks.
The pub carpark was completely quiet all night even though it was August bank holiday.
The only facilities are loos, but definitely one of the nicest pub stopovers around.

We rang ahead as advised and arrived quite late. Arranged to have breakfast in the morning and it was delicious at £9.95 per person for full English and continental. The Inn is lovely with beautiful grounds. Toilets inside but no facilities. The staff were lovely and the parking area very safe. Definitely worth a visit, close to Craster and the beautiful beaches and castles.

2nd time we’ve stayed here on a run up to Scotland, and as before, excellent. lovely place with a nice secluded wooded car park and short stroll to Craster. As is standard with these stop overs, ring ahead and use the money you’ve saved to buy an excellent meal, great value and friendly staff too. Fantastic beach and village nearby in Low Newton-by-the-Sea

i’ve stayed here a few times and love it. a spacious carpark in a very pretty woodland setting right next to the cottage inn. the pub is very welcoming with good food and a cosy atmosphere and the beer garden is huge!! from the beer garden entrance you can access the toilets last thing at night and first thing in the morning which is a bonus for some! a lovely walk down to craster and then along the coast either way, my favourite being via dustanburgh castle. yes, i highly recommend this pub stopover ????????

We stayed one night at the Cottage Inn. It was a rainy, and horrible night so we took advantage of the welcoming bar and fabulous food. And a good selection of real ales. I had a lively crab and salmon fishcake and my hubby had fish and chips. The Inn has some great outdoor sitting areas, a kids play area and a level car park set in woods.Very welcoming. Phone ahead.

Great stop off. You can nip through the woods and into Craster in 10 min.
Carpark is nice and quiet. Food in the bar was very tasty with friendly locals. I also walked along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle took about 40 min.

Agree excellent find - nice peaceful level parking area in the woods behind the large pub garden. Ate in the pub then checked with the landlady that it was OK to stay. Food good, prices not cheap but probably fair for the area. Good value if you were already planning on a pub meal...

Great little location. Wooded car park which is peaceful and secluded, just book in and go eat at the pub, don't just park up. Food good, not expensive? Walk of about a mile to the lovely coastal village of Craster. This is a rural location, entry to the car park being a drive around the lanes and up a secluded wooded road into the pub car park.

Excellent stopover. Very welcoming and great food at a good price. Take a tuppaware container with you as it’s unlikely you’ll manage to eat all of a two course meal and it’s too good to waste! Nice walk into the village and along the coast that’s not too strenuous if a stroll is more to your taste. Loos open from 7.30am. Probably the best pub stopover we’ve had.

Beautiful grounds, a 10 min walk into Craster and then onto dunstanburgh castle which is a walk of about 25 mins along the sea front/cliffs.
Ate in the pub at night and portions are very generous and very well prepared.
Flat pitches, very friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely place to stay. Food in the pub was lovely. Car park was a bit wet and muddy so not brill for letting the dogs roam. Not too far a walk down to the little harbour of craster.

Fantastic stopover......we stayed 2 nights (2 adults and 12yr old) thanks to the very welcoming owners, food was amazing "the fish mornay" was out of this world and reasonably priced, very peaceful over night, massive outdoor seating area outside the pub/ hotel with a secure kids play area. 10 minute walk into Craster. We will definately be staying there again

Stayed here on a one night trip up the coast only 40mins from home. The staff were very friendly. Quite a few family's with children in but only until 9pm. We had food that was very nice then sat by the open fire and had a drink. The car park is set amongst trees in the grounds and is a nice place to wake up. Craster is a 2min drive away. Well worth a visit.
