Great overnight stop in gorgeous location. Only van there but felt safe, not sure if gates were locked for the night as vehicles were there till 10pm ish & arrived from 6.30 but not enough to disturb us. Highly recommend it.View all reviews by adiel
Spent a peaceful night here but just before 8 a.m. a Forestry Commission ranger knocked on the door to say camping was not allowed anywhere in the Forest of Dean except on official campsites. I told him I had read it in searchforsites and apologized if I should not have been there. Five minutes later another Ranger appeared and I went through the whole conversation again. He put a notice on another campervan there where he got no response to his knocking.View all reviews by savannahk9
Stayed here for one night and can honestly say it’s a lovely stopover.View all reviews by nicpits
No hassle, dog walkers were friendly. Nice cycle paths if you fancy it.
The noise from the road can be heard but is not obtrusive. We were the only van there but it wasn’t to lonely.
Gates were locked at 9pm but we didn’t see the warden.
Stayed for two nights, busy during day with cyclists and dog walkers great walks, quiet spot at night you are locked in at sunset, no bother with wardens who left a note on windscreen £50 to have gates opened after hours. Stops the boy racers etc. Gates opened at 08.00.View all reviews by bobl
Quiet location, distant traffic noise not a problem. Pleasant walks and easy-going cycle routes, less than a couple of miles to a pub. A refreshments trailer serving teas, burgers, etc turned up on our second day (Saturday).View all reviews by joncote
Lovely spot and ideal for walking and biking with the big downhill trail centre just up the road. We were the only van there although only April - little apprehensive as it was just me and my 10 year old lad, but all good. Not sure if you are 'allowed' to stay but no signs saying no camping either??View all reviews by dtscully
Stopped over one night. March 2017. They close the barrier at 6.30 as it's winter. Parked inside most of the day and no problems. We're in a 8.6m tag. Didn't want to risk being locked in so just pulled up in front of the barrier and had a lovely quiet night.View all reviews by betsy661
Stayed here for 2 nights July 2015. Nice quite night with other MH present. We used the parking area on new Road which has no barriers. Park at the back as the fishermen come and go at all hours but use the front bigeye car park.View all reviews by irishwales
A lovely spot adjacent to Ponds or small lakes with ducks & swans. Very peaceful apart from the distant traffic.View all reviews by keeftec
Ground can be a bit squishy but unlikely to get stuck. A good chance of seeing wild boar and deer. Some picnic tables.
Great wild camping location in the Forest of Dean. Spent a very peaceful night here before going for a walk around the Sculpture trail. The car park barrier closes at 21:00 and a warden comes around to check for stragglers, however if you are not there when he arrives (or you speak to him nice (:wink) he will simply issue you with a note telling you if you need to get out of the car park it will cost £50 call out fee. So no worries with joy riders etc. If you turn up late and the gate is closed, it is OK to park outside the gate. Plenty of walks in the area and plenty of other similar spots within 1 mile.View all reviews by admin
