Visited yesterday. Still no overnight parking, and yesterday they were erecting barriers with gates. No sure if they are permanent but looked solid. Free daytime parking, we went for a lovely walk following the trail up to the lighthouse.

Used this spot coming and going from the port. Lovely views and nice walk.. The last part of the road is in a bad state, very bumpy. Nice and quite nights

Great place to park up for the night - on top of the cliffs and looking out across the channel, right by the Dover Patrol Monument.
The Bluebird tearooms are adjacent to the car park area and you can also walk (westwards) down the slope to the beach at St Margaret where there's a pub serving good food. There are 100 steps on the final approach to the beach so make sure you have sufficient energy for the climb back up!
Note that the approach is via Granville Road which is an unmade road so take care!

N.B. there are no facilities so take everything away with you!
