This hillside club site is a delightful jumble of pitches nestled in spaces between trees and banks. The only small regimented section was in front of the old lime kilns. Didn't use facilities - use own in these Covid times. Main block has steps up, as does reception. Lots to do around, pleasant market town and Dales just up the road.View all reviews by timsinc
Our first campsite post lockdown, although we didn’t use any facilities due to Covid, all the facilities looked well organised & very clean. The site is very peaceful & quiet, lots of great walking to Leyburn, Middleham, Wensley, etc, we had no issues accessing/leaving the site, they request departures by 11 & arrivals after 12. Levelling ramps needed on some plots. We will definitely be back to this lovely quiet site.View all reviews by Geoffglg

Leyburn very nice well worth the visit
Spent a long weekend at this quirky site set on different levels with open glades amongst trees. Good site for exploring Wensleydale and its surrounding villsgaes and towns. Fabulous area for walking.View all reviews by iggyrich
Access to this site is frankly awful. A narrow and steep hill leads down to the site, and is a nightmare if you happen to meet another large vehicle, though there is a grassy pull in on the way down.View all reviews by track
Wardens were friendly and helpful, and the site generally well looked after. However many of the pitches were both short and narrow, compared to average CC sites. Also most pitches were anything but level, and not very suitable for motorhomes - particularly larger ones. While we were there, it was dark and gloomy, due to too many trees, and a thick tree canopy. Caravans on seasonal pitches were covered in green! There was no phone signal, or mobile data on '3', (or I'd guess on any other network). A small stream runs along the bottom of the site, and is home to a few ducks. Other wildlife shares the site too.
There is a footpath from the site to the A684, which negates the need to walk the steep hill, and a footpath into the town. It took us almost 30 minutes to walk into Leyburn. Other younger and fitter folk would do it much more quickly. Leyburn is a great little town, with a good market, cafes, and a lovely walk along the Shawl. (sadly we cannot manage that anymore), and from which lovely views of Lower Wensleydale are revealed. There are some beautiful rides within easy reach of the site.
I know a lot of people love this site, but with walking difficulties it is not for us.
CC site near Leyburn in North Yorkshire. Some pitches can be soft in wet weather. Facilities are ok but not up to the standard of other CC sites. Hilly approach but ok. 20 minute walk into Leyburn which has plenty of pubs, cafes and other attractions including the Wensleydale railway to Bedale.View all reviews by rayfin
This was our first visit to this site but will be back asap. Unlike lots of site layouts this a refreshing change. It is quirky, spread over different levels with large, open areas and little tucked away areas. We were warmly greeted by very friendly warden and a welcoming committee of ducklings! Well kept site with large, clean toilet block. Wensleydale trains pass the bottom of the site (steam train out of action while we were there). There are only a few trains a day, not much noise. Very peaceful and quiet site. Plenty of wildlife, especially ducks. 20 minute walk into Leyburn where there are plenty of eating places, pubs and shops. As others have pointed out due to the narrow access road, please follow the instruction to not arrive early!View all reviews by montymotorhome

Great place to stay. Friendly wardens who couldn't have been more helpful. Location is perfect for travelling around the DalesView all reviews by tinker
A managed under contract site, so not to the usual CC standards. Some pitches small and not level, toilet and shower facilities rather tired but still very clean. Around 1 mile from Leyburn, with. A couple of small supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, pubs etc. ideally placed as a gateway to Wensleydale and other Dales.View all reviews by spartans2015
