This site is without doubt one of the best sites you will ever have the pleasure of visiting.View all reviews by Biggun
The staff, especially the manager Paul, was very friendly and helped me out when I had a problem with my boiler, He soon had it working again.
The site is immaculately groomed. The toilet blocks & showers were top class.
We found it very relaxing and cannot fault this site at all.
Will deffo be going back there again.... a lot.

I would echo all the good things people have been saying, especially the friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Just to add to Kenreay's comments about the approach to the site, I would suggest - especially if you are towing - that, if approaching along the A414 from the West, it's easier, and safer, to carry on up to the next roundabout and make a u-turn back down to the turning into Mangrove Lane. It also saves waiting (sometimes for ages!) for a gap in the oncoming traffic.View all reviews by fb79

Very large club site only a 20 minute walk or a £5 taxi ride from Hertford. Well kept and friendly staff. RecommendedView all reviews by ralphss8

The accsess to the site is Via Mangrove lane which goes from two lane down to single track with the odd passing place. It has grass pitches with electric as well as hard standings. Some of the pitches are slightly sloping so bring your leveling blocks . All the facilites where spotlessly clean. 4 showers and enclosed basinsView all reviews by james1210
We had a wonderful yet a bit breezy weekend in Hertford at the camping and caravan club site. Lots of nice walks about and the town is steeped in history. Lots of good eateries and can thoroughly recommend for lunch or afternoon tea a place called mudlarks, It’s a tea shop that does great food.
A great time had by all and of course Felix the Burstner motorhome.

If approaching on A414 from Hatfield, be aware after right turn at roundabout, you are going to have to make another sharp right, into Mangrove Lane, keep in right hand lane! Site is as you would expect from CCC, well kept, clean and functioning facilities (although, perhaps, a little dated). Friendly staff. Pleasant walk in Hertford, where there are more walking/cycling possibilities and plenty of eating/drinking options. A very reasonable £17/night for members with age concession.View all reviews by kenreay

This site was very convenient for us to walk into Hertord, a lovely busy commuter town with lots of nice walks and pubs, beside waterways - 25 minutes.View all reviews by cshel
Two nights for £34 (CCC members, and OAPs!)
Site had been fully booked last week (summer weather), in February! And its a big site.
Spacious hard-standings and neat shower block - but didnt use waste facilities

A large site with well spaced plots, facilities up to normal C&CC standards, friendly staff. Nice park to walk in next to site. Hertford in walking distance although we did not go there. Value ok if you’re a member.View all reviews by brianrndavidson

Had a lovely time over the Easter bank holiday. Nice walk into the town. Lovely wardens and plenty of space between others. Lack of soap in toilet blocks, but kept pretty clean. No bins (vermin issues) other than by reception. Not a lot in the immediate area, good walking to find what's about. Hertford is a lovely town, ware is smaller with riverside pubs. About an hours walk left out of camp are a few pubs with good food. Good place for walkers.View all reviews by kazngaz

We are regular visitors to this site as it's a quick getaway for us when we are time-limited. We have always been happy with the cleanliness and facilities on site, and the location more than makes up for any niggles. It's a 10/15 minute walk to town through leafy streets and pedestrian lanes and the market town of Hertford is well worth a visit - independent shops, pubs, restaurants and fabulous walks along the river. You can walk to Ware and get the boat back. As they also have ready tents, we had a family weekend away with my daughter and partner who wouldn't normally ever consider camping. We were pitched next to them and had a great time!View all reviews by simange

Access is very easy for this site as you come off a dual carriageway so any unit can cope. You then travel up a narrow road but its not very busy so again, very easy. Entrance is wide and then there are barriers. The roads around the site are very narrow and have speed humps in places and are quite pot holey. When we stayed it was half term so very busy but only one shower block was open and we were pitched a long way from it. There was only fresh water at the shower block and emptying points for grey waste and black waste. There is a motorhome service point but its not easily accessible with our 7.2 motorhome. Waste bins are situated outside the site and there is recycling. We noted that a lot of people pitch there and go to work so there is movement around the site from 0600 on a week day and cars/vans start moving at 0655 hrs, also on a week day. Weekends were quiet. There is a play area for children. The Wardens don't seem to keep on top of leaf collecting or answering the phone (you have to leave a message for them to call you back). The grass areas are on a clay soil so they flood when it rains and takes forever to drain away. The site is very tired and unkempt not up to the usual standards of a British club.View all reviews by tugga
